  • Taken at sunset from top of Monserrate on the eastern edge of Bogotá. At 11000 feet it gets very cold after sundown. Over the higher elevations, mist starts to form and begins to enshroud the hills and valleys which creates a beautiful landscape, everchanging as it forms and dissipates and reforms and rolls over the hills. / /

  • I’m not a beach person, never have been, but after reading Anne Morrow Lindbergh’s Gift from the Sea which was written on Sanibel/Captiva Island, Florida, I had a strong urge to go there. My husband and I took a belated 37th wedding anniversary trip to the islands which we thoroughly enjoyed. The sunrises and sunsets were a joyous sight for us, and this photo which I’ve titled “Last Light” is among my favorites as it symbolizes the way people cling to the last rays of light on the beach, squeezing in every available moment at the seashore. The area in the distance was a gathering place for fishermen who continued to cast till they could see no more.

  • For millions of years the sun rises and the sun sets. Still, after seeing sunsets for hundreds of times, we are still touched. There is little to compare with its brilliance. It catches us until the last of the twilights is gone into the night. / / Framed Print /
