A great card to send greetings to your friends and family during your summer holidays! / The Bandonion family sends greetings from the beach where they are spending a wonderful holiday. / Dad, Antonion, played golf, the children Marionion, Shanonion and little Johnion have been swimming all day, surfing and snorkeling and building sand castles. / Mom Jenn Anistonion has been sitting there all morning, of course now she has a terrible sunburn!
“Turn me over, baby, cuz I’m DONE on this side!” This old gal was just soaking up the spring sun. I couldn’t help noticing the distinctly PINK tinges on her hide, just like a sunburn. Do hippos sunburn? Well, who knows? I just figured there must have been a 55-gallon drum of sunscreen sitting somewhere close by :o) Talk about a face only a mother could love . . . . LOL.
On a Vermont lake beach, a brilliant Red Maple Leaf relaxes and soaked up a bit too much sun!
Sun going down the glow makes look like the trees are a light
“Snatch” is a tune from the Caligator “Snapper” CD available from CdBaby.com. This is a live shot of me recording the track live in the “studio”, actually the guitar player’s spare bedroom at home. The space was so limited I wasn’t able to stretch my legs without kicking something over and I actually broke my headphones while trying to play with them on. I wound up recording with either nothing to hear at all or a faint sound coming from the engineer’s monitors about 7 feet away. The camera used was a Kodak EasyShare I purchased for some unknown reason and I placed it on the book shelf that was crowding my single keyboard to the immediate right, using a timer to trigger the shot while I was in the middle of the speed metal synthesizer solo. The background is a bed that was pushed up against the wall for whatever room we could have and to my right rear was a window that allowed a modest amount of hot air into the room if I left the blinds open, which toasted my right arm to the point of a mild sunburn. The odd thing is that this shot captured the only track on the CD that I almost nailed in the first take. The producer refused to allow me to record it again so it remains on the CD as the only part I played a single time without someone whispering in my ear to play something another way while I was recording. If you ever do a “bedroom recording project” like this one, you need to get a medal no matter how the project turns out. I know I earned one – the hard way.
Sun bathing but where did all the people go.
“Remember to be gentle with yourself and others. We are all children of chance and none can say why some fields will blossom while others lay brown beneath the August sun. Care for those around you. Look past your differences. Their dreams are no less than yours, their choices no more easily made. And give, give in any way you can, of whatever you posses. To give is to love. To withhold is to wither. Care less for your harvest than for how it is shared and your life will have meaning and your heart will have peace.” Eyemadreamer Kent Nerburn, American Author, Sculptor, Theologian and Educator, b.1946 / / Took this with my telephoto while at the ocean. It’s the sun, on a hazy early evening, I darkened it up obviously and changed the sky to red. And then I liked it. :)
