  • Cute little starfish wearing heart-shape sunglasses.

  • Homes perched on the caldera of a volcano. The volcanic colours of the soil meet the blues and whites of Mediterranean Greece. You may even see a few people sunbathing.

  • Sales of this Design? – 1 sale so far :) / Sleepwave is a mixed media production on canvas textured paper, it involved the use of inks, pastels, charcoal and acrylics. I took studies of ladies lying on the beach at Byron Bay to give me the correct outlines for the figure work, then just used my imagination for the rest Sleepwave pairs nicely with Sunlover :D

  • This dragonfly was soaking up the sun while trying to stay out of the wind today. He was such a big dragonfly. The colors on this guy are so vivid. I am amazed by the blue that is in his face, it is so bright, and vibrant. Very pretty predator.

  • Taken in the Galapagos Islands (Bartolomé)

  • These cute little turtles just love to lounge in the sun on a hot July afternoon! Iowa

  • WHAT A BEAUTIFUL PLACE FOR A FROG TO SUN BATHE, ON BEAUTIFUL FLOWERS, WHICH ARE SUN FLOWERS FEATURED IN “THE WEEKEND PHOTOGRAPHER” ON NOV. 26, 2009

  • The clouds and the mist were constantly changing, I was playing hide-and-seek with the sun until I captured this right moment where the sun reflexion was perfect: sharp and attenuated. This is a stitch of two images.

  • This is just before harvest, as the sun starts to settle over feild for one of the last times. The view seemed to remind me of the time that we have here on earth, as the beauty of life. For the crops, their time was growing ever so close to fullfilling their purpose. They had a great season, and everything seemed to be perfect. The right amount of rain, mixed with the warn sunlight. This is near where I grew up, and some of what I really loved about where I lived. But the times are charging, and the growth of civilation is taking over this land. This feild, will soon be replaced with Strip Centers and houses. I feel lucky to have grown up here, during this time. I only hope that those that come after, can experience some of the beauty it once was, by the images that might of been captured.

  • Frank, soaking it all up!

  • When a friend from Redbubble, Karen Millard came to visit me on my last day in Jersey, we spent an afternoon at Gorey, photographing the castle and the harbour in this small village. It was very difficult to take original shots with her following me around ( he he he, just kidding Karen), but I did enjoy trying out my HDR techniques. I took this lovely shot of an old boat enjoying a sunbathing moment as it waits for the tide to return to the harbour. I love the rustic feel of the harbour in Gorey. You can sense the history that this castle and village are steeped in. This is a HDR image combining 6 bracketed shots, using Photomatix Pro for Macs, and adjusting some tones and lighting in Enhance Details as part of Tone Mapping. Canon EOS-1Ds Mark ll / 28-300mm IS zoom lens / f/29 / 1/100, 1/60, 1/40, 1/25, 1/15, 1/10 / ISO 100

  • This is Ralph, a Humboldt Penguin (spheniscus humboldti) at Marwell Wildlife. Ralph is currently nationally famous for sporting a wetsuit. Apparently the poor fella’s feathers all fell out and the wetsuit is a temporary measure to protect him from sunburn until the feathers grow back. He seems contented enough in his sports outfit and he doesn’t need to worry much longer if the weather is as bad as it was today! ;o) Canon EOS 5D MkII with Canon EOS 70-200mm L IS f/4

  • Lazing on one of the small beaches in Kassiopi. Kassiopi is a lively resort at the North East corner of Corfu. A charming little fishing village, with a traditional port. Tourism has had its influence, but you can still find local fishermen bringing home the morning catch down at the harbour. Above the town are the remains of Kassiopi Castle. The remains overlook the harbour and continue around the headland. The castle has Roman foundations but the visible remains above the ground are Byzantine. The castle was subsequently fortified further by the Venetians, and survived sieges from the Ottoman Turks in the 1500’s. Today the castle is mainly ruinous, but parts of the walls can be seen from the coastal road around the headland. / You can walk among the ruins and the top ramparts offer an excellent view of the Albanian coastline. Recent efforts are being made for its restoration. BEST VIEWED LARGER Related shots can be found at Corfu or Greece or Eastern Meditteranean. Featured in : ImageWriting : 4 Sep 09
