Boreas Pass, Colorado…..one of my favorite places on the face of the Earth to shoot at….the fact that there is hardly anyone ever up here and the fields of Wildflowers go on forever really make this quite an extraordinary place. Located on the Continental Divide, it reaches an altitude of 11,481 feet high. The pass was formerly known as Breckenridge Pass in the 1860s, when it served as an early route for thousands of prospectors during the Colorado Gold Rush who crossed from South Park to look for gold in the valley of the Blue around Breckenridge. In 1866, it was widened to a wagon road that accommodated stagecoaches. In 1882, under the direction of Sidney Dillon of the Union Pacific Railroad , the Denver, South Park and Pacific Railroad (by then controlled by the Union Pacific) begun laying narrow gauge tracks up the pass, which Dillon renamed in honor of Boreas, the Ancient Greek god of the North Wind.

Every time when I look to this photo I’m happy and sad on the same time! But now the whole world knows!!! Johnny I Love You Forever & Always, Happy Birthday my Love, Yours Yoka!!! / / The Golden Gate Bridge is a suspension bridge spanning the Golden Gate, the opening of the San Francisco Bay onto the Pacific Ocean. / As part of both U.S. Route 101 and State Route 1, it connects the city of San Francisco on the northern tip of the San Francisco Peninsula to Marin County. / The Golden Gate Bridge had the longest suspension bridge span in the world when it was completed in 1937, and has become an internationally recognized symbol of San Francisco and California. / Since its completion, the span length has been surpassed by eight other bridges. Acrylic painting. This painting was inspired by the lake that we visit in Northern California. The trees are so thick and there are layers and layers. I would love to work on more like this and get a better feel for the trees, but for now I enjoyed finding a way to show the beautiful pines as the caught a Moment of Sun. / / /
The Sun sets as we travel through Brooklyn, New York on The Belt Parkway on a late December afternoon. I believe a flock of birds were traveling in the opposite direction nearby at the same time, causing the dark lines in the sky. Taken from Car with Nikon D70s 70mm Fl F4.5 1/20 sec.

This image of the Right Mitten framed in between two rocks shows the shadow of the Left Mitten falling across it. The Sky was doing some amazing things behind me and I noticed that most people had truned for the sunset. I steedfast remained shooting into the park. The change in colour taking place in the Valley as the sunset came closer was amazing. The right rock is slightly burned in but I am not one to play in Layers. This is a 3 image HDR given only a slight adjustment. The resulting image was then processed in CS3 with a slight adjustment to straighten the horizion and curves to add a little extra contrast. All 3 images to make the HDR were shot with a Nikon D70 Featured in That One Great Shot / Featured in Top Shelf Wildlife & Nature Art ! / Featured in Mornings and Evenings / Featured in American Southwest / Featured in Dimensions 588 views on the 5th Nov 2009

I applied the Orton Effect for this photo. I was out shooting clouds, and with the sun being SO HOT; I stepped into the shade from this willow. The view there was beautiful.
