Taken from the summit of Mt Oberlin overlooking The Garden Wall in Glacier NP. Down below is the famous Going To The Sun Highway and further up is the Highline Trail. Above that is the Continental Divide. I don’t know who that guy on the left is.

Depression and anxiety affect 1 in 5 Australians and can be as severe, incapacitating and life threatening as other physical ailments. Reaching out for help is often difficult. With kind thanks to Justin for modelling for this image. Taken at Hallett Cove, South Australia

This is at the peak of a trail called Stations of the Cross (Le Calvaire) in Oka Provincial Park (Quebec, Canada). The hike is 4.5 km in length return, and the highlight is a lookout point on the mountain. The trail was developed in 1742 by the Sulpician priests and is considered a Canadian historic site. Many chapels are erected along the route but I found that these two stood out as I reached the top of the path. Early summer 2008 / Nikon D40 18-55mm lens
If it could be said that flowers have emotions then this very pretty little Thelymitra pauciflora (Slender Sun Orchid) bloom would be shy and timid as these native Australian terrestrial orchids open and close depending on the sunlight. I photographed this beautiful specimen along the Ocean Drive Fire Trail near Queen’s Lake Nature Reserve at North Haven, NSW, Australia, about a thirty minute drive south of Port Macquarie, NSW, Australia. I really like how the centres of these beautiful flowers look like bees. Visit my Aussie Wildflower collection in my BubbleSite for more native orchid gems. I have altered the colors of the evening sky to accentuate a vapor trail left behind by a passing jet in the clouds above the setting sun… LavenderMoon~

Deep in the gorge of Watkins Glen, fascinated by the luminous shafts of sunlight that found their way into this beautiful, but often dark place. Watkins Glen is a State Park at the southern end of Seneca Lake in New York. This was photographed with a Canon EOS 10D camera using a Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L zoom lens @ 70mm. The shutter speed was 1/60th sec at f/8. The camera’s ISO was set to 200. A Manfrotto tripod was used with a remote shutter release. Your comments are always welcome! Constructive criticism is appreciated. © 2009 Gene Walls All copyright and reproduction rights are retained by the artist.
