  • roadkill
    by Yasemin Sumner

I wonder how many people are driving nowhere in a stolen car.

I’ve got this obsession – along with many others – with the road. I don’t have a car but I love to drive. I’m writing a few characters, trying out some scenes for something bigger, like a series of shorts/ vignettes that all slightly interweave by telling their part of the story…

Take Two. / Sorry if I’m bothering you all with this piece but after getting some very lovely helpful feedback from my new best friends, it helped me look at this story with fresh eyes and re-write it hopefully for the last time. Here is the first draft, apart from some minor quirks here and there, the main thing I’ve changed the perspective and tense which beefed up the word count but hopefully not in a bad way. I seem to do this sort of thing a lot when finding a way to tell a story, especially one that is giving me grief and I am trying to find the right way to tell it or scrap it. This one would not leave me alone, but the good news is that this one feels quite right. Thank you for reading and helping out with this. / This place makes me smile a lot. x
