This is what I love to do most evenings in summer,,, I just paddle out, float around and watch the sunset. I find sunsets very beautiful so I thought I would share my point of view! / Ohh, and yes,, I took the camera out on the board with me! Not too deep but did nearly get done by a wave.. pretty stupid, I know but I just really wanted to share this! .. The perils of photography! Uluru in the afternoon sun, in 40C+ Central Australia. Featured in / -Natural Color and Light in February 2009 / -That One Great Shot in March 2009 / -Rural Around the Globe in April 2009. This photo is contained in the following calendar: / Uluru/Ayers Rock is a large sandstone rock formation in the southern part of the Northern Territory, central Australia. It is 348 m high with most of its bulk below the ground, and measures 9.4 km in circumference. It lies 335 km south west of the nearest large town, Alice Springs. Uluru is sacred to the Pitjantjatjara and Yankunytjatjara, the Aboriginal people of the area. It has many springs, waterholes, rock caves and ancient paintings. Uluru is listed as a World Heritage Site.

I started this about a year ago got the body done but she was naked and just a little too hot, so I shelved her, this week I thought I’d do something with her and this is what came out of it. A bedraggled survivor of this wet wet scottish summer soaks in a little warmth in the briefest of sunny intervals. I think it’s a dwarf aster or michaelmas daisy – a goodnatured border perennial and hardy with it – just as well! / ;) A handheld macro hastily taken along with japonese anemone / / /

These Chunkies have been very therapeutic to create over the holidays, whilst taking a break from red bubble and having my family around. I have many more to come, and although I won’t be on RB as much, I hope to also be doing some serious painting this year…so i look forward 2009 with much anticipation …

This image was taken in 1995 back in the days when my eyesight was reliable and I could still use my SLR Canon AE-1 manual-focus camera. Image was scanned from a 4×6 print and then slightly sharpened in Photoshop. No other post-processing done. Thank you for stopping by to comment on this image.
