I sold a card – it’s being dispatched now. Wow! This is not going to fund my trip to the sahara desert or pay for a flight on the worlds first commercial space flight, but it sure is nice. To whoever bought my picture – thank you. My confidence is increasing.

Well… / Lets start by saying i have only been a member of Redbubble for about a week or two now and when i joined up, i joined up with the idea that i could make some T-Shirts for myself. Thinking…Hey next time i need a T-Shirt why not get one of my designs…it could be an original. That was it…to start with. Now i have seen a few people talking about not making sales, but i have been in the art game for long enough to know better….i was not expecting to make many sales! But contrary to my expectations over the last three days or so i have sold three tees(All on seperate days). Now to me, this is very cool! Sure i cant quit my day job just yet…but i will eagerly keep my eyes out for them when im out and about on the street and i find this a very exciting prospect…that is if they happen to be in old Melbourne town (Ah…The internet and Globalism!?). More important than this though, i have looked at the stats and my images and tees have been looked at over 1500 times in those few weeks(Big thanks to Redbubble’s frontpage!). Now anyone who has ever exhibited their work im sure will know how hard it is to drag the public in to go look at art. I have probably never had 1500 people look at my art with all my past exhibitions combined! So to me…that has been the greatest sucess of being a part of Redbubble. And on top of that to get positive feedback, suggestions…and feel reconnected to an Art Community has been the icing on the cake. Sometimes you forget if your work is good, bad or just ok…you lose perspective. And this has helped me regain confidence and to feel inspired. So, I just wanted to say a big THANKYOU to everyone out there who is supporting this site, supporting the artists and to those who have encouraged and supported me by looking at my art, leaving comments or purchasing my work. Thank you and i hope you enjoy it! Keep making and looking at Art! / yours, / Glen aka ‘NO FRILLS ART’ ps- i am also looking forward to seeing some of the redbubble tees and cards that i just got the email today saying that have been sent out to me! WooHoo!!! pps- i cant think of anyone i would like to be buying/wearing my artwork than those of my peers! ppps- Keep up the great work and development Redbubble!!!

I was due for one, that’s for sure. / When I finished at the last place a month ago I had the prospect of a job in a bookstore. That seemed fairly promising – in fact, I rated it as my ‘dream’ job, but it fell through. But two weeks ago I found an ad for a suitable position in a firm just a suburb away. That really seemed too good to be true. But I put in my application, did the interview, and they offered me the job the same day. / It’s certainly not as pretty as the university job. But the tension level is way lower, even though the firm is going through some major changes. They produce lenses for spectacles and I had no idea that there were so many lens types available! Everyone seems fairly easygoing, and it’s just a thirty-minute walk from home. Though I may not have to do too much walking: the woman I’m taking the job over from has moved to another position inside the company and she lives only ten doors down the street. / That would have been enough good news for one week right there. But a friend in Melbourne and I have finalised the details for a licence agreement on one of my fractals. She intends to use it in her business literature. / All I need now is Scarlett Johanssen to come knocking on my door tonight.

  • The Artist 2002
    by Paul Stephen Dixon

    US$3.42–US$28.50

A rendering of a selfphotographic portrait I took back in 2002; Something heavy was weighing on my mind. A dream that came half true and was defeated by me not being humble enough in my great strides to ” success” So I walked three strides forth quickly and four back slowly but surely. One of lifes bittersweet experiences and was the time I thought I had reached and caught the stars, not knowing how right Andy Warhol was when he said ” everybody can have their 15 minutes of fame. Today creating for me is my lifeforce and what way it takes is of less importance, maybe at last I have understood the meaning of being humble in art and living in this world. Paul

I had an exhibition last night and I finally had the guts to exhibit my digital work that I have created and show on Red Bubble. My work was extremely well recieved by my peer, curators and collectors and I made quite a few sales. It has given me the conficence to continue to explore the relm of digital & photography. And if it wasn’t for all the kind feedback and Support from the Bubble I may have never journeyd down that path!
