  • Cause it’s not nice to shoot people with guns. A cool shirt for any filmmaker or photographer! Please support a starving artist by buying one. :)

  • I think I am mainly putting this up so I can buy it for myself one day. I do so many shoots for free, it’s a shock to get ones that actually pay a little. Ah, the life of a ‘struggling artist’. I am sure you all know what it’s like.

  • MUCH BETTER VIEWING EXPERIENCE VIEWED LARGER Thanks for dropping in your viewings, comments and if i’m lucky FAVOURITES are greatly appreciated. The Queen Victoria Building is currently undergoing a facelift at $37.5 million , one of the features is upgrading the paintwork to victorian period colours. This image shows “The Grand Staircase of Sydneys Grand Queen Victoria Building, and is an example of how grand old buildings can be restored ans still be used as money making concerns, in this case a grand shopping experience The Queen Victoria Building, now affectionately known as the QVB, was designed by George McRae and completed in 1898, replacing the original Sydney markets on the site. Built as a monument to the long reigning monarch, construction took place in dire times, as Sydney was in a severe recession. The elaborate Romanesque architecture was specially planned for the grand building so the Government could employ many out-of-work craftsmen – stonemasons, plasterers, and stained window artists – in a worthwhile project. Originally, a concert hall, coffee shops, offices, showrooms, warehouses and a wide variety of tradespeople, such as tailors, mercers, hairdressers and florists, were accommodated. The QVB fills an entire city block bound by George, Market, York and Druitt Streets. The dominant feature is the mighty centre dome, consisting of an inner glass dome and an exterior copper- sheathed dome. Glorious stained glass windows and splendid / architecture endure throughout the building and an original 19th century staircase sits alongside the dome. Every detail has been faithfully restored, including arches, pillars, balustrades and the intricate tiled floors thus maintaining the integrity of the building. / The visual message of Sydney’s coat of arms, on the cartwheel stained glass window, is that the beehive depicts business, the sailing ship – trade, and the dolphins – the harbour. Panel 1, on the left hand side, represents the Council of the City of Sydney, and symbols of architecture, while the letters I.G.B. on panel 3, on the right, represent Ipoh Gardens Berhad, the Malaysian company who restored the QVB. The symbols are of property developers – the builders. The bottom central panel represents the heraldic symbol of a finished building and the joining of two hands denotes the fusing of two cultures. There are many interesting and charming exhibitions and attractions throughout the building, along with portraits of the Queen. There is also a letter from Queen Elizabeth II to the Citizens of Sydney to be opened and read by the Lord Mayor of Sydney in the year 2085. Outside the QVB, on Town Hall Place, facing The Town Hall are the Royal Wishing Well and Queen Victoria’s statue. • J5 Retro Seventies Logo. Note: Redbubble does not print in ‘real’ glitter, this design is a print reproduction of a glitter-effect. This stops the damned stuff coming off in the wash and covering all your washing in flecks of glitter for the next 20 years! If you want ‘real glitter’ you’ll have to skip off to the local shop, buy a big tube of UHU and a bag of chopped-up foil flakes and glue the stuff on.

  • / ©MCN:CA479-DDYKE-4TPKN / Canon 1000D / f/6.3 / 1/100sec / 18mm (18mm-200mm Sigma) / ISO 200 Melrose Abbey is a Gothic-style abbey in Melrose, Scotland. It was founded in 1136 by Cistercian monks, on the request of King David I of Scotland. It was headed by the Abbot or Commendator of Melrose. Today the abbey is maintained by Historic Scotland (open all year; entrance charge). The ruins of Melrose are widely considered among the most beautiful of religious houses in the United Kingdom, being especially notable for a wealth of well-preserved figure-sculpture, and its architecture is considered to be some of the finest in Scotland.[1] The east end of the abbey was completed in 1146. Other buildings in the complex were added over the next 50 years. The abbey was built in the form of a St. John’s cross. A considerable portion of the abbey is now in ruins, though a structure dating from 1590 is maintained as a museum open to the public. Alexander II and other Scottish kings and nobles are buried at the abbey. The embalmed heart of Robert the Bruce is also said to rest on the abbey’s grounds, while the rest of his body is buried in Dunfermline Abbey. In 1812, a stone coffin that some speculated was that of Michael Scot the philosopher and “wizard”, was found in an aisle in the abbey’s south chancel. It is known for its many carved decorative details, including likenesses of saints, dragons, gargoyles and plants. On one of the abbey’s stairways is an inscription by John Morow, a master mason, that says: “Be halde to ye hende” (Keep in mind, the end, your salvation), which has become the motto of the town of Melrose. info from Wikipedia

  • A collaboration with Christine – this is a real skirt!!! on a hand drawn model, i hope you like…it’s the roaring 20’s flapper vintage version, of the design below, to see the process, etc, read on…this skirt is designed by Chris and will be for sale available as patterns for knitters in early January, this design will be on the front of the patterns. let me know if you are interested in ordering a pattern and i’ll pass on your details to Chris \ / sales of this design – 1 so far, thank you Chris!! / / a special project, this took 15 hours to complete from start to fin. it began as a pencil drawing and a photograph of a skirt and was in 3 parts which i put all together… see below: / Top half of Arwen (pencil drawing) / / Arwen Skirt / / Bottom half of Arwen oh yes! i forgot to mention the background is an old rusty tin (a photo) which i found in an opshop..i loved it to bits and finally found a use for it! it forms the basis for the background and the matt Arwen is standing on too The skirt in this image is a real skirt! / See it here and gasp what a gorgeous beauty, and it was not only made by my friend Christine Jones but it was DESIGNED by her. Chris is currently completing a course in the UK to enhance her knit design skills, it’s very intensive and she always wanted to be able to create her own designs, finally, she’s come up with not just one, but another beautiful Flamenco wrap knitted and designed by Chris with eco friendly yarns, was recently featured on the front page of YARN Magazine Chris has asked me to create girls to ‘wear’ her real designs once she has created them, so that she can put the designs on the front of her patterns and sell to other knitters. This arwen design she’s come up with in rainbow colours has got to be the cutest thing I’ve ever seen, I’m so proud of my friend. I have recoloured Arwen and reimagined her in a vintage 1920’s style art deco scene as a little Charleston dancer/flapper …. the skirt seems to easily translate into the fashion of that time… one day Chris hopes to also create an adult version of the skirt with pattern… wouldn’t that be cool. Chris is a wiz with all things textile and fibre, and i recently visited her place for a Sunday garage sale and came home with more than i intended .. a beautiful huge felted bag, gorgeous Cloth, Scissors, Paper mags, tools and equipment for stamping, so inspiring! Thank you Chris! I will keep you posted. Please email/bmail me if you would be interested in a copy of Chris’s patter for the skirt, it’s at this stage for girl’s but if you are interested in it as a big girl pattern for ladies, please let me know and I’ll pass on your interest to Chris to spur her on into making the adult one and creating a pattern for it also. Chris can probably take orders if you’d like me to pass on your details, she hopes the pattern to go on sale early January, she just has other test knitters all over the world working on the pattern to ensure it all turns out beautifully. / ...... / and something a bit different for you 500 coloured pencils enjoy the creative journey….. / ..... / Christine’s handmade one off textile garments available for sale on etsy / http://www.etsy.com/shop/yarnaboutyarn / yarnaboutyarn Christine’s website link / http://www.yarnaboutyarn.com/ / Christine’s blog / http://www.yarnaboutyarn.blogspot.com/ / Christine’s cards and prints available for sale on redbubble / http://www.redbubble.com/people/christinejones /
