A shirt I designed in Photoshop, E for Emma , I’m hoping to all letters so keep an eye out for yours, it may take some time but its always rewarding to see your own design on a shirt, I think I may buy some of my own designs. Emma.

We just happened upon this feature off a highway in Alabama. It is on private property and you pay a pittance to enter in a gift shop, then walk a very short distance to this view. It was spring and the foliage was beautiful.

In this watercolor which is derived from a real location in a local canyon, I abstractly added some red struts. In this image the colored paint forms a space filled with light and the struts imply gravity is there too.

The Sydney Harbour Bridge is not just grand; it’s amazing. It’s one of those things where, the longer you spend studying it, the more amazing little details start to jump out at you. I love the subtle fractal nature of the bridge. The large, repetitive crosses that form the two arches are themselves made up of many small crosses, and the large triangles that run up each side joining the arches are constructed from many triangles. Is it on purpose? / Or just a freak of Engineering? / Either way, it’s beautiful. Sydney, New South Wales, Australia Like this photo? Get a print of it and hang it on your wall! /

This angry looking strutting pair of male Larus novaehollandiae (Silver Gulls) , was photographed on the beach at Kattang Nature Reserve , Dunbogan , NSW, Australia on a great summer day. Canon 400D / Sigma 10-20mm For Tallow The octagonal library, completed in 1876, is the only part of Canada’s original Houses of Parliament to have survived a major fire in 1916. A quick-thinking librarian closed the iron doors to the library as the fire burned through the Centre Block. Canada’s Library of Parliament has officially reopened, after a four-year restoration and upgrade costing more than $136 million. The mammoth undertaking was necessary to repair leaking windows, dangerous wiring and walls that were literally falling apart in the 130-year-old building. A statue of Queen Victoria sits in the middle of the newly renovated Parliament Hill library in Ottawa. / (Tom Hanson/CP) / “Although we were denied the loveliness of the library for a while, it was only in order to bring back the lustre to this jewel on the hill,” said Peter Milliken, Speaker of the House of Commons, at a ceremony Tuesday to mark the end of the work. The Victorian Gothic building, with its flying buttresses and copper roof, sits at the back of the existing Houses of Parliament, overlooking the Ottawa River. The delicate restoration and upgrade was necessary because of concern about the library’s unique collection of historic books and lack of space to store them, as well as the building’s structure. “I felt the building . . . needed some saving,” said project director Mary Soper in an interview with CBC Television. The work involved dismantling and rebuilding parts of the exterior and digging below the structure to create a large, climate-controlled space for books and documents. The copper roof has been replaced and parts of the exterior masonry rebuilt. “We have touched everything on the building top to bottom, inside and out — we’ve brought it up to date,” she said. The aim was to make the building structurally sound and improve the lighting, without losing any of the charm that makes the building a favourite with tourists visiting the Houses of Parliament. “The challenge here was the building did not have proper mechanical and electrical systems to not only conserve the bookshelves that are here, but also the collections which are among the most important in the country,” said Architect Jozef Zorko.

Ring-Necked Pheasant / Common in open woods and on farmland in brush, hedgerows, and cornfields. Much larger than other gallinaceous birds except the turkey. Both sexes have the long pointed tail and short rounded wings. Plumage variable, depending on origin of released stock. Female is told from the smaller Sharp-tailed Grouse by the much longer tail, large bill, and bare legs. Flight is stroung, but only for short distances. Feeds mostly on waste grains, seeds and berries. Teh loud, 2-syllable call is followed by a muffled rapid beating of wings. This was captured in our front yard on Sunday morning.
