This beautiful old building is located on Parramatta Road very close to Sydney Uni and Broadway. I love the graceful lines of the structure and am grateful that when it was done up and converted into luxury apartments that the exterior of the building was left untouched. The harsh lines of the windows cutting into the old signwriting make this a real visual treat and an icon on the way into to town. Taken with infrared film using a very low rent battered old analouge camera while standing on a dustbin in the servo over the other side of Parramatta road. Hope you like my building.
On a clear day, the jetty at Queensland’s Wellington Point is simple but striking.
This old wigwam is a relic of the past. Used in sawmills to dry timber, this old timer is one of very few left. As a native of the Northwest, I remember them being a very common sight. Seeing this particular scene on our way home from a trip a few winters ago, I had to make a painting for the sake of a good memory. Comments or critiques welcome. Commissions taken.
The Sydney Harbour Bridge is not just grand; it’s amazing. It’s one of those things where, the longer you spend studying it, the more amazing little details start to jump out at you. I love the subtle fractal nature of the bridge. The large, repetitive crosses that form the two arches are themselves made up of many small crosses, and the large triangles that run up each side joining the arches are constructed from many triangles. Is it on purpose? / Or just a freak of Engineering? / Either way, it’s beautiful. Sydney, New South Wales, Australia Like this photo? Get a print of it and hang it on your wall! /
Some things you can hardly believe when you see them. I went to school as a structural engineer, and I have to say I’m amazed this house is standing. I went to some pains to make sure the image is vertical, and it’s definitely pretty close. So yes, that lamppost on the left really is leaning like that. This is just a scene captured while on the back streets of Nallihan in central Anatolia. Sometimes I feel like every door I see has a story behind it worth telling. If you look closely there’s a padlock keeping this one shut. What we’ll probably never know is … why?

Clicking on the image for a more detailed view is highly recomended. A bit different from my more nature and environment based subject that I normally upload…But this is yet another composition that I had wanted to capture for a long time but couldn’t think of a good way to do it. The run of foggy mornings in the last week made me curious to explore it in these conditions.I like the result, I feel it has a smooth yet coldness emotion… / Fuji G617 – Velvia 100F. / ©T.Middleton2008 —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—- / / see more of my TRUE panoramic photography by clicking on the image below / / -

Nikon D40, Nikkor 18-55mm lens The Jardin Botanique, in Montreal Canada, is located right beside this infamous structure and I couldn’t help myself. I understand after a few years of closure that the elevator is now functioning again, so I plan a trip to the top in the fall. Haven’t been up there in years… The Olympic Stadium (French: Stade olympique) is a multi-purpose stadium in Montreal, Quebec, Canada built as the main venue for the 1976 Summer Olympics. It subsequently became the home of Montreal’s professional baseball and Canadian football teams. Since the Montreal Expos relocated to Washington, D.C. in 2004 (and prior, the Montreal Alouettes second departure in 1997), the stadium has had no main tenant, and with a history of financial and structural problems, is largely seen as a white elephant. It currently serves as a 56,040-seat multipurpose facility for special events (e.g. concerts, trade shows) during non-winter months, and continues to serve as a venue for Grey Cup games hosted by the Montreal Alouettes. La tour de Montreal, the tower incorporated into the base of the stadium, is the tallest inclined tower in the world at 175 metres, and is a member of the World Federation of Great Towers. / -Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Top Ten placement in the Buildings- Old and New challenge for the Nikon D40 group December 2009 / Top Ten placement in The Best Shot of Public Building challenge for That One Great Shot group, October 2009 / Featured in Architecture anbd Cityscapes group April 2009 / Featured in Unique Building of The World group February 2009 / Featured in the Architecture and Cityscapes photography group February 2009
