  • This is picture four in a series of artworks which are composed from images and re-done in composite form. I was trying to catch the essence of a modern concrete jungle and it’s parts. The originals are 500×500 canvas prints.

  • B&W of Carter Shields cabin located in the Cades Cove area of the Smoky Mountains

  • Taken on a fabulous day in Redding, California – straight from my older HP digital camera on manual setting for daylight. I wanted to take a different view of the bridge and walked around and look up and this is what i saw. I moved around a little to try to get the wires all lined up and even with top of my frame. This is the result. I hope you like it.

  • oil on canvas / 121×90 cm / 2007 original for sale It’s the moments when the world falls away, and all that is left is our own consciousness, the sound of our breaths rattling in our chests… All that is left is our own perception of ourselves, uncoloured, unrecognisable, unchangeable. / It’s the moment when we can just close our eyes and just. Breathe. Inspired by Philip Guston’s “Zone” paintings.

  • This is my cousin’s holiday farmhouse in Maine – New England Region USA. It is about 150 years old and made up of many parts which were added over its life. None of the floors are level and it has a meandering internal layout with narrow staircases and low cielings.

  • another shot of the fire my volunteer fire dept was putting out wednesday night..this is a old landmark that used to be a restaurant, then a river tubing company, the river tube company has been closed for two years now. this was the 4th time this building has been caught on fire, this time..its a goner, happy to say no firefighters were harmed / you could feel the heat off this thing from 25-30 foot away! but then after all died down, we all like to have frozen our “hoses” off!! temps got down below 30 degrees (F), and we were all soaked! / it was a real challenge, shooting this , because the ony light was from the fire, and the trucks, and i hand held camera for all of the shots / im happy to say out of 112 shot, i only deleted close to 10, if that here is the link to the local tv station that has put my shots on there http://www.wbir.com/news/local/story.aspx?storyid=53827

  • The beautiful Red Rocks of Sedona, Arizona at sunset beneath a stormy sky.

  • A revised version of my ‘Middlesbrough Drops’ watercolour painting. The coal drops on the river Tees estuary, in the 1830’s. / In the foreground, is the Tees river ferry – which in those days, was a small, rowing boat. I love the daunting and weird, distant grey structures, ready to drop the coal upon the collier (coal) ships. My version of a Thomas Harrison Hair, 1837 watercolour. Watercolour and HB pencil.

  • Two storey building in Gilbert Place, Adelaide – South Australia.

  • I love how water clings to different objects and creates such shapes… This is just an ordinary dandelion puffy thing after it rained one day. Taken with a Sigma 105mm macro lens…

  • Well this is one of those occasions when I turned to the husband and said: “Stop, stop the car, I saw something back there I need to shoot!” / I just couldn’t pass up trying to capture this old barn on the way out the beach this morning. Found this barn along the Oka Rd in Ste-Marthe-sur-le-lac, Quebec CANADA, July 2008 just about 5 minutes from home. • © copyright 2009 All Rights Reserved / You may not use, replicate, manipulate, redistribute, or modify this image without my express consent. This cross is located in Groom, Texas. I have wanted to get a nice picture of it for about ten years now, and we actually went by it two days ago. I used my Canon Rebel XT to capture this shot. I was excited that we were going to get there at sundown. Funny thing is right after this shot, we ran into another one just like it in Indiana. I could not believe someone else put the exact same cross on their farm property, wonder if their related. This is Groom, Texas skyline, and put them on the map. The settings were shutter speed 1/30sec. F-stop F/5.0, ISO 400, Focal Length 140.0mm. This was an as is shot. Welcome to the Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ Ministries and the marvelous story of what God is doing through this 19 story cross located on Interstate 40 at Groom, Texas. • Canary Wharf is a part of London that I’ve been meaning to visit for ages, but have always refrained due to various stories of photographers being hassled / frisked / manhandled by overzealous security personnel. It’s an area of London that I’ve visited a few times (mainly when I started web contracting back in 2007), and have always been fascinated by the “shininess” of the district – huge structures comprising of glass and steel, towering over the populace below. Today I took the plunge, hopped on a train with my camera and trusty Sigma 10-20mm, and started brazenly snapping away. Well, if you’re going to do something, you might as well do it properly is what I always say! This is by Canary Wharf station, and on the left is One Canada Place, sometimes known as Canary Wharf tower. Canon 400D, f11, 1/200, 14mm, ISO100 See more of my work at Dan Biggins Photography.
