I went through many variations of this title, before settling down to the one that would fit as a file name. You know, it is about trying to keep people on the farm, after having seen gay Paris, in part; but, there is also, all that “You can take the girl out of the country, but you can’t take the country out of the girl” only, in this case, the opposite and a bit of leading the horse to water, too. You can keep the girl on the farm, but you can’t keep the farmer in the girl. And, etc. I am not back yet, by the way. But, I am amassing quite a stockpile of formerly semi-finished pieces, that I’ve been finishing up the few times I have logged on. Back to the concept: I do not advocate strippers, stripping, etc. But, I was looking up burlesque inspiration for a certain contest at one point, and I was considering painting a burlesque peacock with girl feathers, and then things progressed, and here we are. I may still do the other things, though, later, as it’s quite fun. I do, by the way, advocate husbands and wives getting together with feathered fans and pasties if they feel like it, stripping or being stripped by each other, and etc. I’m sure it could be quite fun, and there is no harm in that sort of fun and absolutely no moral dilemma, unless they are Amish, maybe. Well, you know, not just Amish, but, those are the first people I could think of that might consider that a definite lack of morality. The point being that I don’t want anyone to think I’m all for strippers, yet, I don’t want them to think I’m all for boredom, either. Okay? Okay. The painting is more about feeling, the desire for gaiety and freedom and .. especially freedom,and not about a desire for a loss of morals, or a desire for less natural living, or slothfulness, or etc. It is a grounding in reality, but, with a nod of the head to the fact that needing to break out, at times, is vital to our health. We must dance, or sing, or weep, or laugh until our sides hurt, or all of the above .. So, yeah, it’s about a lot.. and it’s all good. And, yes, that’s how I felt then, when I made it, and how I feel now, a bit. Sometimes I am still here, still in the same old life, doing the same old work, but, it’s just not the same old me. I laugh more, dance and sing outloud, make jokes, and generally drive people crazy. It’s not manic, it’s not wrong, it’s just something that needs to get out sometimes, same as children need to play. PS: The farm scene was a bit inspired by a painting .. by RD, I think. I can’t remember the name of it or anything, and I wasn’t looking at it when painting the girl on the farm and all, but, I remember it a bit.
