Clivia miniata, also known as Bush lily, is a species of clivia, from South Africa. It grows to a height of about 45cm in the shade of trees and shrubs, and flowers are red or orange, with a faint, but very sweet perfume. / Clivias are named after Lady Clive the Duchess of Northumberland, whose grandfather was the famous Clive of India / Panasonic FZ20

I use it to do my stomach crunches and sit-ups. I remembered the movie, “The Professional” and decided to belt myself to the edge of my bed to do my sit-ups, the way Leon did in the movie, until my new stability ball arrived. This art work was created in collaboration with Bradley Nichol We discovered that we are each U2 fans and decided to collaborate illustrating the songs from The Joshua Tree. This is the first work we have done together. The main image of the tree and stars is all Brad. I absolutely fell in love with the photograph and added the miners, lighting, and red. The image of the miners is public domain. Finally the song, “Red Hill Mining Town,” was written by Bono some say in response to the United Kingdom miner’s strike in 1984 when Maggie Thatcher closed “unprofitable” mines, placing already economically fragile families in peril. Honeyeater captures a view of one of these beautiful yet shy birds at the National Botanic Gardens in Canberra. Behind the scenes / Too many times, I’ve missed a great shot of birds like this one because of hesitation. I’ve waited, my finger poised on the shutter button for the perfect shot. To capture this image, I tried a different tactic, shooting many frames rapidly capturing the bird in a variety of poses.
