“Art Inspired by Song” / The Girl from Ipanema – Antonio Carlos Jobim,Frank Sinatra / Lyrics: Tall and tan and young and lovely / The girl from ipanema goes walking / And when she passes, each one she passes goes – ah When she walks, shes like a samba / That swings so cool and sways so gentle / That when she passes, each one she passes goes – ooh (ooh) but I watch her so sadly / How can I tell her I love her / Yes I would give my heart gladly / But each day, when she walks to the sea / She looks straight ahead, not at me Tall, (and) tan, (and) young, (and) lovely / The girl from ipanema goes walking / And when she passes, I smile – but she doesnt see (doesnt see) / (she just doesnt see, she never sees me,...) / T_SHIRT / / FROM MUSIC SERIES / MODERN TIMES / / / PLAY MY MUSIC / / / ALWAYS MY MUSIC!! / / / DO YOU HEAR ME? / / / DANCE /

It’s a busy time at school now; a big group project due in less thatn two weeks; but within all that time we have many tours around Rome so we don’t really find the time to meet up and work. Furthermore I’m still living far from school (I’ll be moving closer to the new place after my deadline; otherwise I have to start paying rent sooner), and still doing my laundry by hand – don’t know if I’ll find time for that until the deadline. The next day I move, and the day after I go away again for another field trip; hopefully I’ll have enough clothes – guess I’ll find a laundrymat the day before the field trip to use a dryer; otherwise my clothes won’t dry in time. Today was a rather hectic day, though I won’t bother spilling on that. But then I check my bubblemail and see the heading “Congrats to Mui-Ling Teh… ” and wow I won a challenge! Well there were only 12 entries in this challenge, but I’m grateful to all 10 people who voted for my 3cm Family Swim in the Numbers One to a Trillion challenge Numbers in Measurement! Thanks to you guys my work is now the group avatar! As an architecture student my life in revolved around numbers and measurements. Speaking of which, this project I’m doing now is a planning project of a site that is HUGE; over 120,000 square meters~~ O _ O and if school isn’t already far enough from my home, this place is almost twice distance I commute to school. Just keep swimming, just keep swimming…

Trying to paint while enduring a constant stream of workmen running about the house has been a challenge! The mess, the confusion, the frustration….....all came together as I tried to express my feelings on to the canvas. The work is finished, the remodeling is lovely and I plan to leave the stress here in this piece.

A depiction of trying to keep overwhelming forces under control. Based on a statue I photographed in Zurich last week. I was there trying to organise paperwork, and realised we had been misled and things delayed by a month.

My friend Andy gave me the courage to submit this shot. Thanks Andy! Brief description: I was playing around with bracket shots/HDR, and at the last moment while my timer was ticking, I jumped in front of the camera. hehe Talk about spontaneous…. I guess I wanted to see how I’d look in HDR.
