  • These images represent my personal favorites from a recent journey to Guatemala. I’d been been a regular fixture in Guatemala 10 years ago, but was very curious how the country had changed. I was afraid that it might have become westernized and that it’s glorious, colorful culture might have been white-washed away in favor of McDonald’s and Walmart stores. Happy to report, my fears were unwarranted! Guatemala is still very much the vibrant culture I recall from a decade ago. Skip Hunt / Austin, Texas / skiphuntphotography.com

  • In the summer of 2008, astride a steel horse… I embarked on a journey through Mexico that lasted 2 months and yielded some of my best images to date. This is a collection of a few favorites. I hope you enjoy! Skip Hunt / Austin, Texas / skiphuntphotography

  • In 2007 I was commissioned to photograph a new resort near Port Alfred, South Africa. As part of the “deal”, I was to be provided with transportation to go off on my own to see a bit of the region. These images are among my favorites from that journey. • One sort of image that I’m constantly on the look out for is wall texture that occurs naturally through decay or random human intervention. Or a combination of the two. I love the idea of finding naturally and randomly occurring abstract “art” by merely noticing it and composing it for presentation. I don’t paint (yet), but when and if I do… these images represent the sort of subject matter I’d paint. This series is all vertically oriented. Enjoy! • Oslo, summer 2008 Street photographers are a strange breed. They walk around, they saunter, they wonder, they search and stare and then maybe shoot. They see what most people don’t want to see. Then, when we look at the photos, we only know the story that a photographer would share with us. Most likely it’s not the whole story just because they can’t know people’s thoughts, feelings, they can only guess. We can guess. And tell our own story. Think what could happen, how it will affect those people, try to imagine.
