Terrace Falls in flood.
Two leaves cast to the wind only to be rescued from the rushing water by a rock. A metaphor for life and way we can be cast to the winds of change and hustle and rush of everyday life. Yet one can find peace in our faith if we seek it. Refuge from the flood, the flow the busy lives we lead. Here’s to quite moments of reflection.( A Finalist for the Betterphoto’s November 05 image of the Month)
Best viewed large. Side view of the three cascades at the top tier of National Falls, / Royal National Park just south of Sydney Australia. From here the water drops 25m to a couple of shallow pools before dropping over a 50m fall which is almost inaccessible. Working on finding a way to these large falls but they are in a ravine and haven’t succeeded yet. We’ve been in a long drought so these falls have been mostly non-existent for the last couple of years. It’s good to see them flowing so freely again. / Tv: 10secs / Av: f13 / ISO 100 / FL: 33mm

Yesterdays shooting where I had to scouted this canyon and slid down in from the top and followed the water down a 1/2 mile before I could find a spot to climb out. Some nice Autumn leaves line a tumbling stream near Mt. Rainier

Well, I spotted this out on my Saturday hike from above and scouted for a way down into the capture the scene. What I found was a impenetrable blend of steep banks and thick brush covered in Poison Ivy and Devils Club. Common sense told me to let it go but in the end I slid down using my tripod as a walking stick and managed to get to waters edge with both feet and behind a bit wet. I hope it was worth it for it seemed so at the time to me. Golden leaves on a moss covered boulder in a small stream contrast nicely against rushing water
..This watercolor painting on roughcast paper was inspired by the book ‘Driving over lemons’ by Chris Stewart..El Retreto’ parque .Malaga Spain…. .Spanish guitar featured in ‘Outsiders’ first watercolour painting of Spain...
Filling up a glass of water and noticed this out of the kitchen window. Literally ran outside with a t-shirt and slippers on to get this before it went. First few shots were a golden amber in color then it went to this before it disappeared. Only snapped about 30 bracketed shots before it was gone. Gonna go a repot my orchid while this is uploading (and I finished it, thanks dial-up). Hope you like it. Please critique… print available here and on my website. My kind of HDR… I used no program, just what I liked from 3 different exposures and put them together over the darkest image. First of many I tried in Yosemite.

This image was taken on the Keystone Group – Pennsylvania ’s group shoot June 27, 2009. We had SO much fun!!!!! Image taken with the Nikon D300 and the 18-200mm vr Nikon lens. Shutter 1/250, aperture f/6.3. Post processing included HDR in Photomatix from creation of 2 additional images in Photoshop at an eval of +/- 3 from a single hand-held image after some work with levels and burning and dodging and cloning. Afterward, into Painter 11 for some fun additions, then back to Photoshop for an Orton finishing technique.
Best View Larger Feature in Live and Let Live group. Taken at Watkins Glen State Park, Watkins Glen, NY on 10/10/2009. I was with Lina Paul and Dj We where there because Dj has a week off before he goes for basic training for the Army Reserves. The park was really crowded and it was difficult to capture the waterfalls without anyone in them. I will catch up with replys and reviews later on today. I am going to the pumpkin farm with the kids. Canon 50D / Sigma 17-70mm lens / Shutter Speed 1.50sec / F-11 / ISO 100 / Tripod
