Something a little minimal….. I love a minimalist abstract or fractal, there’s just something about them. And you just don’t see all that many minimalistic fractals. To me, fractals don’t always have to be a wild explosion of design and color, there’s a place for the subtle too. I love both ends of the spectrum,,, the fractals that shout & the fractals that whisper. As for this one, I tried to incorporate the negative space as part of the image itself, & not have it just hang there as a lifeless piece of the background. White can be even more unforgiving than black so I gave it a wash of color to soften it & bring it into the image even more. All critiques are more than welcome ! I’d definitely like to know how I can improve on this. You may have to look full screen to see the lines a little bit better, or maybe not. Depending on your screen, monitor & eyesight I guess ! ;-) Created with Apophysis. Lauren

Cement Creek runs through Mt Donna Buang in the Yarra Ranges National Park, north of Warburton, Vic. There is a Rainforest Gallery walk which takes you past the creek. “Clouds on the Water, Fire Near the Sky” / Purchase a Mouse Pad of this image I happened onto this gorgeous sunrise over the White River at a time when the water was at its lowest. I was delighted to catch the calm surface for reflections, as the low rising sun was casting its first orange glow over the autumn colors.

I was playing around with styles at first and kept placing the image through filters for the background. Then I added different photoshop brushes to create my theme and this what I came up with. I love the colors. /

This tree grows next to a small stream that runs of the moors through the old quarries and lead workings, just off the B6278 road that runs from Stanhope to Eggleston in County Durham. A wonderful little spot and a place to regain your breath after discovering the hidden hair pin bend. This is the church of St Winnow, which lies on the banks of the River Fowey, just below Lostwithiel in Cornwall, England. The church was featured in the 1977 BBC series of Poldark, which starred Anghard Rees and Robin Ellis, as Ross Poldark. This capture was shot in colour, but converted to B+W with an IR filter in CS3. I quite like the effect, and I hope you do too. / Thank you for looking. Best Viewed Large. Pentax K110D. / Pentax 18-55mm Lens.

This is another view of the spill way in black and white to heighten the details. As I stated before, out with my friend and fellow Redbubbler Jason Connolly photographing the Derwent reservoir in the Peak District of Deerbyshire, England, we spent quite a while photographing Derwent dam and the surrounding area. We also spotted this lovely out flow of water into the Derwent reservoir. This water comes from the Ashop river which flows through Snake Valley. A portion of the river was diverted to flow through the mountain to the other side through this water way tunnel and out into the Derwent. There is a dam in the Ashop, but it only stand 10 ft., but is still used to allow water to continue to flow into the reservoir, even though the river is allowed to also run into the Ladybower reservoir as well. The concrete table here creates this beautiful cascade of water. Canon EOS-1Ds Mark ll / 28-300mm IS zoom lens / f/22 / Shutter speed: 5 seconds / ISO 125 Some post processing work done in Photoshop CS. I changed it to B&W and adjusted tone with green and red filters. I also decided to clean around the edges by cropping the image.
