Recently Featured in / / A Place Called Home Though I come from Scotland, I’m most at home on the riverbank. I just love places like this in Devon UK, where you can walk peacefully along, listening to the birds and the rippling of the water, the magical light as it streams through the leaves and lights just a small portion of your pathway. Amazing sounds and smells too, especially after rain on a warm day. So earthy…. Yes, I feel at home along the riverbank:-) Sold A Card on Wed 22nd of April 2009. After an operation to remove skin cancer from my forehead. Ouch! that was really painful, but the sale brought a smile to my face, and that hurt again:-) LOL. I love the way the light shines on the pathway by the riverside and in the distant trees. It reminded me of how God directs us through life, He chooses not to illuminate the whole of our lives, but to direct us little by little bit by bit, so that our trust in in Him alone. The verse of Scripture that sprang to mind was, “Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path”. You can trust God’s Word to guide you through life. Hope you enjoy; A Light unto my path.

I was delighted to catch the calm surface for reflections, as the low rising sun was casting its first orange glow over the autumn colors.

Emerald Paradise As Is… / Canon PowerShot S3 IS Rainbow Springs Florida’s third largest spring, Rainbow Springs pump 600 million gallons of water daily and serves as the head water to the pristine Rainbow River. The property was acquired by the State Park Service in 1990 and is slowly being allowed to revert to its natural state. / Beautiful floral gardens surround the spring, and the area is immensely popular in the spring when the azaleas are in bloom. The state also acquired Rainbow Springs State Campground, located nearby, which was formerly privately owned. From the campground, you can tube or canoe the crystalline waters of Rainbow River, or fish for large mouth bass and other freshwater species. / A nature trail provides a lovely walk past two waterfalls and the azalea gardens, and meanders along the Rainbow River. / /

There is nothing so special as a misty morning in Pisgah National Forest, Western North Carolina, my favorite place in the world. The world is silent except for the soft whispers of water and mist. Pure magic. I added the Orton effect and changed the hue to create a more dream-like effect. Hope you like it! Featured in A BEAUTIFUL BLUR – September 28, 2009! The Rappahannock River is a river in eastern Virginia, in the United States, approximately 184 miles (294 kilometres) in length. It traverses the entire northern part of the state, from the Blue Ridge Mountains in the west, across the Piedmont, to Chesapeake Bay, south of the Potomac River. / An important river in American history, the Rappahannock was the site of early settlements in the Virginia Colony, and, later, it was at the center of a major theatre of battle in the American Civil War. Due to its significance as an obstacle to north-south movements, it, in effect, functioned as the war’s eastern-theatre boundary, between the “North” (the Union) and the “South” (the Confederate States of America). / The river drains an area of 2,848 square miles (7405 km²), approximately 6% of Virginia. Much of the watershed is rural and forested, but it has experienced increased development in recent decades because of the southward expansion of the Washington, D.C. suburbs.
