Taken on a beautiful evening at Wattamolla in Royal NP just south of Sydney Australia. / This is a blended exposure of two identical shots – one shot was taken to expose for the water and to catch its movement, the second shot to expose for the sky. I then combined them in PS. I find this technique gives you a lot more control over an image than by simply using a graduated density filter. I kept the aperture the same for both shots (f/8) but the sky was a 1sec exposure and the waterfall 30sec – so you can get an idea how wide the dynamic range was here. / Canon 30D / Tv – 1sec-30sec / Av – f/8 / ISO – 400 / FL – 21mm / Circular Polarising Filter

Located about 10 minutes walk from my home, in Hazelbrook, NSW, Australia. Equipment used: / Canon 300D, Sigma 18-50EX, cable release. Shot Details: / RAW capture / 3.2 second exposure. / f/22 / 100 ISO / 23mm focal length. Post production details: / Photoshop CS, cropped slightly, levels adjustment, increased saturation, sharpened Note that the waterfall is placed towards the top and right side of the frame. This allows the water to “flow” through the image from the top right to bottom left corner which makes the viewer explore the image by following the natural flow of the stream. /

Elowah falls tumbles some 200+ feet to the floor of the Columbia River Gorge. Taken on a rainy misty day in January. I never seen that much water coming over the falls.

As the water passes by me so does the Autumn season. By the time I am able to return to this spot the colors will have mostly been blown unto the winds. Seasons pass so quickly, much as our lives if we live for today and not for eternity.

A rushing creek and a few fallen leaves taking a brief respite from thier rapid trip downriver via breeze and rushing water. The rocks offer a brief sacntuary before they are swept away into the coming winter.
