This is our sweet kitty, Hershey Kisses. I named her that because she loves to give kitty kisses and when I first found her she was the color of white chocolate. This photo was snapped on a whim, just as she was waking up from one of her many naps. —-—- Hershey has been entered into The Humane Society of the United States’ Spay Day USA Pet Photo Contest. Please vote for me! —-—- Ever since I was a child, animals have been my passion. My one real dream in life is to someday open my own animal sanctuary. As it is now, I only wish my home were as big as my heart. When I’m not caring for strays I’m working on designs for various animal rights issues. This photo is one example of something I have used on several products, including stamps, with the text “Save a life… adopt!” to promote pet adoption. Animals and their welfare are something I take very seriously; and in the past people have said it’s my religion. Did this quick piece for fun.. I miss my old friend, Brown, a stray cat. And sometimes, before i sleep, i’d imagine this image in mind.. And i’d fall asleep feeling him close to me once again. I first drew the chibi and the cat in flash.. then i did the rest of the painting in photoshop.. In May 2008 a stray cat had a litter of kittens in our garage. This cute stray with pretty blue eyes was one of five that we took to the local SPCA for adoption. The SPCA told us since they were so young they would probably find homes fairly quick.

Scruffy dog enjoying the sun. Yes I was a bit trigger happy yesterday!!!! Fiddled with in PSP but haven’t a clue what I did now! Various duplicate layers, blending and masking! To comply with group rules: / Started photography May 2008 / Nikon D40 18-55mm at 18mm, natural light. / I found Scruffy 2 months ago on wild campo land in Spain. She was pregnant, full of ticks, fleas and worms! Thanks to a local animal charity, they vacinated her and speyed her. She is the cheekiest, funniest and most adorable dog you could wish for.

When they saw Sienna they ran for cover under the neighbor’s garage, but kept peeking out to watch us. This adorable white cat had two different eyes, one blue and one brown. Taken 11/7/09
