framing suggestion / The very talented Cathrine / was kind enough to write this beautiful poem: Stranded I await / for signs, for answers / that may come my way / In a day, a word, a gesture / and when it comes, what would I say? For the path to walk is so unclear / My tide is low, my movement lost / Where to go, a mystery to me / Rooted, in this space of now / My final port, I don’t see Don’t want to falter / don’t want to fall / don’t want to sink / into an unknown hole / Just await, the best, I think It will come, it will tell / and then I shall answer / with a clarity of voice / in this circus of a world / I will make my choice and so I await / for my tide to come in / Entire being reaching / to be carried to the place / where my heart and mind would be meeting. / Thanks very much for all your kind support:) xxx
Miniature Christmas lights in macro. /
This piece came from 30mins that I spent with a strand of pearls to get a feel for how I would do a sitting with a client..
Sailing boat that ran aground at Carpenters Rocks, Limestone Coast, South East South Australia. Went on a group photoshoot last night, seven of us out in the weather….. This boat is only visible like this on extremely low tides just East of the lighthouse at Carpenters. Canon 400D, 18 -55 lens, polarising filter, HDR 3 shot merge in Photomatix.
If this prooves popular, I’ll make it a a series with several images. / I have over a 100 of these photos, true some are awful, but there are quite a few I feel are good… so yer, if u like it, keep an eye out for more Enjoy! _
Oils on canvas. Cape Town, the city of my birth. Dusk falling and the lights are coming on under the shadow of the great mountain where I was born. When the ‘table cloth’ forms over the mountain, Van Hunks and the old devil are smoking their pipes like crazy in a never ending competition and the cloth of cloud falls over the table like a waterfall. (old legend). The sky is clear over the mountain here today and the sea becomes black and purple as the light shifts. The view is from Blauwberg Strand. Original oil painting is 30×40 inches. I am sharing this image that my husband Wayne took many years ago that’s been scanned from a print. / In 1992 we had an incredible snow fall which left many sheep stranded in the high country and needed to be rescued. / In New Zealand it’s known as Snow Raking – combing the hills looking for stranded stock, freeing them and standing them up (when they lie down they get frozen in place), then stamping a track down to lower slopes where they can be fed. Since we are in our autumn/winter season I’ve uploaded this for interest.
The day summer arrived and it got stinking hot. This shot was taken at 5am and not a cloud in sight. The days temperature climbed up to 40.2°C in Brisbane. Summer is over is just over a week. This morning was certainly what I would expect in winter, crisp, vibrant and cloudless. Keep it coming…love it
Edited version… / Hm, pretty simple design so I hope I haven’t done something too similar to anyone else. / Don’t usually draw animals… Thought I might draw a beached whale though when I found the picture of all the orca’s stranded in tasmania. I heard it’s caused by noise pollution, but am not witty enough to come up with something related to that. (older version had really bad proportions – the whale in comparison to the girl. I’m not sure if this is much better though) Thank you for all the comments :)
As it was when stranded at Knobby’s Beach, Newcastle.

Heres no. 2… Enjoy!
Came across this stranded buoy on the rocks when doing an early morning shoot. Love love love the textures of these rocks… especially as a contrast against the sky.
Where do you go when the world has failed you, / when those you sought to teach would not listen? / Where do you go when your joy fades to sorrow, / your oceans die, while your message washes in on a lonely tide, / and your brokenness is but a parting reminder for hard hearts to open? / When the oceans rise and your song is no longer heard, what shores await you….? / Where will you go? And might we with our healing hearts follow? Following on from my story about the mass whale stranding here in the south west I felt compelled to create something more…... to honour these beautiful creatures. Then I viewed the following amazing short clip (shame it’s an Optus advert lol) and wanted to share this with everyone….. / Please view Sales of this image will be donated to the Wildlife appeal to help the birds and animals who have suffered through the fires in Victoria.
