  • [Double Exposure Project #2 – Oregon and San Diego Exposed] This is one of the images produced through double exposing a roll of film with my amazingly talented, generous, and dear friend Matt Adamik. This is our second attempt at working with this process and I am in love with every image yet again. Matt lives in Oregon and I live in San Diego. He shot the roll first, mailed it to me, and I shot over top his photos. Neither of us knew what the other was shooting. The results are astounding and breathtaking. And fun! We will be collaborating on many more double exposure projects in the very near future. A wonderful way to bring Oregon and San Diego together, as well as the styles and friendships of two photographers. I am absolutely in love with this type of photography! I highly recommend it for everyone. Thank you Matt for everything! Goggles Down!

  • While taking my nephew around midtown Manhattan, we walked past this building. I have walked by this building several times before but never actually looked up. (Perhaps because I was in a hurry!) This time however I did and thankfully had my camera with me. (I thanked my nephew for being so patient with me.) I didn’t even notice the lights until later that night since I was trying to capture the whole building and not fall backwards. Camera: Pentax K200D / Exposure Program: Manual / Exposure Time: 1/100 sec / F-Stop: f/5.00 / ISO Speed: 100 / No Flash

  • At first this looked like a person shouting his/her rage & triumph out to the heavens, but then I decided I was wrong, the colors were all wrong. Then, I thought it looked like a singer on stage, with that last trembling note hanging on the air…....so….. I chose opera. The term “bel canto” generally refers to an Italian vocal style of the the late 18th century, where use of a light tone in the higher registers and agile and flexible delivery were common in the operas of that period.

  • The primate area of the Brookfield Zoo is indoors since the weather is a bit chilly these days. The lighting is low so I had to push the ISO in order to get fairly respectful shutter speeds. This photo was taken with a Canon 30D @ 3200 ISO. I am impressed with the image quality. • Just had to put this image up, one of about 200 that i shot at dawn, this may not be the one I go with, its just a random selection. I just wanted to wax on about my new Cokin Z-Pro system that arrived before christmas, i used various combos this morning, this one is straight into the sunrise. Using this combo: / Warming filter + ND8 + ND4 grads over lapped to ballance the intense sunlight against the foreground, this is the raw file saved as a jpg with no work on it. I want to work on this image when we get home, I will post both versions, I have shot hundreds of frames since being at Mount Maunganui, the filters are superb, a slight compromise on my part, I priced up a lee system which was twice the price, next filter to get will be a reverse grad. Shot on a Nikon D700 with nikkor 17-35mm lens. / Cokin Z-Pro, warming filter, ND8 and ND4, tripod.
