This was my first RedBubble post and one of my personal faves. / I shot this at Jervis Bay, the day after a cyclone up in Queensland created some amazing sea swell even this far down the coast. The cliffs they were breaking against are 100m high and these were going halfway up so were pretty spectacular I can tell you. The day before they were going all the way up the cliffs and then some but I didn’t realise I had the camera on autofocus and they all came out blurry in the low light – very, very frustrating as I’ve never seen waves like them. Taken with a Canon 30D

This shot was taken in The Water Run on the Coastal Walk in Royal NP just south of Sydney Australia. It was a wild and stormy evening and the sun just started to emerge from the clouds behind me as it was setting. The blue tint to the water comes for a very short period around sunset – you can just see it in any moving water at this time in the right light but the camera really picks it up. Canon 30D / Tv: 1/6sec / Av: f/13 / ISO: 100 / FL: 28mm

Taken at the Waterrun, Royal National Park just south of Sydney. The rainbow is from some wave spray and that’s a little waterfall off to the left. / This shot was taken at dusk about an hour before Poetry of Chaos. It was amazing watching the storm come in and the colours changing and the sea swell growing. One of the great privileges of living in this park is watching the same landscapes in a myriad of different moods depending on the weather and time of day. Taken at the Waterrun, Royal National Park, just south of Sydney at the same location as Poetry of Chaos and Falling Water Falling Light, but one month later. Really curious that at the same location in the park there were two rainbows in very similar positions but one month apart. I find strange coincidences like this happen a lot in the park – for example shooting storms off the cliffs over a couple of years I’ve found the lightning strikes are almost always in the same place for each storm. Looked out of the window yesterday evening – thought the sky showed some promise – so tootled off to Black Rock, near Barwon Heads. Wasn’t disappointed.

Sailing boat that ran aground at Carpenters Rocks, Limestone Coast, South East South Australia. Went on a group photoshoot last night, seven of us out in the weather….. This boat is only visible like this on extremely low tides just East of the lighthouse at Carpenters. Canon 400D, 18 -55 lens, polarising filter, HDR 3 shot merge in Photomatix.

Photo Manipulation Musical inspiration: Akira Yamaoka. There are no lyrics, only music. I find his music haunting and it sets a rather melancholy mood, both beautiful and sad. / I listen almost exclusively to Yamaoka songs (mostly the soundtracks from the Silent Hill games/movie – my absolute faves) when I am creating. They inspire me like nothing else can. Originally uploaded in March ‘08, this was a capture of the storm that hit SW England that same month. / This was taken from the bridge at Dawlish Railway Station, Devon, England. / Despite the rough weather, the trains continued to run, and this stretch of track is the most expensive to maintain, due to the battering it gets from the sea. / This is a common sight in Dawlish during the winter months, and sometimes during the Summer months also. This picture was originally tonemapped by Dave Warren and I have revamped it a little bit to give it a slightly different look. Thanks again to Dave for his help with this.
