A poem written during one of the best storms of my life.
A poem about the realms of this life and our afterlife…
This work was written 14 days after my father passed from Carcinoma (lung cancer that spread to his liver). He learned of approximately only one remaining year. The prospect of death gave me the opportunity to know my dad in a way I thought I never could. You will see many pieces from me pertaining to the wonders of God and His mysterious ways.

A storm came today with desperately needed rain, but also with awe inspiring thunder and terrifying forks of lightning so close I thought the clothes on my line would be turned to cinders. One day ONE DAY I will click when those forks hit! Until then, enjoy images of black sky and driving rain and hail.

I wrote this poem in Rome, August 2006. I was reading Charlotte Bronte’s Villette. Overall, this book depressed me (as you can tell by the mood of the poem) but there was one paragraph where Lucy Snowe hit rock bottom and there was a huge thunder storm that set my imagination alight. I was encouraged along by real, genuine and extreme Italian thunder storms (yet another coincidence :)) The confused chaos of the first part of the poem is contrasted by the comforting rhythem of the final stanza, when the wind reveals its wise words.
