  • noone really knows why they built stone henge , however its significance remains untainted undeniable to this very day , i imagine a castle overlooking its ethereal beauty in moonlit mysticism , its enormity is overwhelming in itself it is also still impossible to maintain a signal of any kind over the salisbury plain where the mists cling over the flatlands for miles and the stillness and solitude are tangible Avebury a lesser known unyet larger stone circle is within a vitual stionesthrow of here , just around the corner from me , i am truly honoured

  • Near to where i lived in Eyam, Derbyshire, is the small village of Stoney Middleton. It is a lovely little village situated between cliffs and woods. At one end of the village boundaries is this lovely old house called Rock View Cottage which dates back nearly 300 years. So picturesque with the smoke coming from the chimney. It is a sad note to add that this cottage was pulled down last year and no longer stand at the entrance of the village. For me, it is an icon of Stoney Middleton gone forever. Now all i have is this photo! Please enjoy. HP Photosmart C850 bridge camera / f/2.8 / 1/800 / ISO 160

  • Early one morn i was out taking photos at Urqharts Bluff. A beautiful stretch of beach along The Great Ocean Road. I was pleasantly surprised to find all these beautiful stones washed up along the shore for as far as the could see. It was such an unusual and beautiful start to my day.

  • Stoney Point is the terminus for a passenger train service from Melbourne. It was set up in the early days of steam to provide an excursion route to enable people to visit Philip Island, which was connected with the train service by a ferry service. I used this service to have a holiday on Philip Island in the 1940’s. / With the coming of cars, there was agitation to link Philip Island to Victoria by Bridge and this was done at the opposite side of the island at San Remo. This wrecked havoc with the train ferry service. They both were still running in 2000, but only just. / The train came into the station well out on the platform, the engine was disconnected from the train and then ran around to the other end, and brought the train into the platform before the return trip. I do not remember any station staff the day I was here, and think the man on the points was either an engine driver or engineer, but I do not remember well. Taken with a Pentax Z1p on Kodachrome 200 film.
