Still life photograph of little flower and stacked stones set on an incense tray. Mixed media print on gouache stained and acrylic and Inkaid primed Japanese Kinwashi paper. Red ink stamped Chinese characters mean: Study, Dream, and Love. 11” x 17”. The original file was shot with a Lensbaby. The image was printed on Urara paper then scanned. That file was printed onto the altered Kinwashi substrate.
More from the Lightscapes Set This is another photo taken a few minutes after sun rise
I like this image. I think of it as my own weathered heart. It is made of stone and taking a beating by the elements but it is still visible and a beautiful heart. Yosemite National Park, Bridal Veil Falls.
One of my first photos on the Shen Hao camera, taken round at Crail harbour in Fife. / I placed myself right on the water’s edge, looking down as the tide came in and superimposed 3 exposures on the one frame to give the effect of water lapping around the rocks like mist. I think the red rock is carboniferous sandstone.
Hiking down Havasu Creek.
We spent 3 magical days backpacking at Havasu Falls, one of the most beautiful place on our planet.
When I was visiting relatives in Wrexham (North Wales), I spotted a stone head on the lawn near the library. It was decorated with mosaic. As I try not to plagiarise, I decided to draw the outline of the head and then draw it as though it was built with stones, sort of dry-wall style. As of September 2009 this has been favourited 37 times and featured 4 tiems, so I guess someone out there likes it :) I am now offering this for sale as view cards. Here is the photo I used for this drawing (I took it myself so there are no copyright issues) and I ask you to consider whether I do straight copies or, as I believe, I add some of my own style to the finished picture. The eye makes a comeback! / (same one in my shot: “Centrifuge”..and yes, this is my eye. :) / / / / >featured<
The ancient stone circle at Callanish on the Isle of Lewis in The Outer Hebrides is over 4,000 years old and one of the oldest such structures in the world. Though smaller than Stonehenge it is considerably older and is awe-inspiring to visit. Normally seen in sunshine, here we have a photograph taken beneath an umbrella as a storm passsed overhead giving this magical place an altogether unworldly quality.

This stencil was created in early 2008 inspired by fashion photography and damp cold London. Recently cut stencil with one layer from an older stencil of a zebra in pink on her dress, with hand drawn cobbled stones. The canvas itself is 3 times in length this is just a mere snap shot of the original piece. This piece is 1 of 3, utilising the same same stencil and composition of works I’ve posted on Red Bubble at the moment. The other is ‘snow and umbrella’ and ‘rain birds’
More stones from Connemara! A building that is still used … the door was locked. It was stuck at the bottom of field with no evidence of what it might be used for.

this is a commission I received from someone who wanted a Stonehenge picture without anyone in it… / here’s the result. Hope it’s alright… / So everyone is aware – this is a photomanipulation – not an actual photo that I took…. / I manipulated sky, grass, clouds, colors…. :) to give it a fantasy feel… Peace, Claudia

I wanted to create something that conveyed what I was thinking when my mind wanders. This happens when I’m in meetings with people with monotoned voices or when my thoughts start to turn too emotional. If I could make a painting of how I feel and where my thoughts take me, this would be it. / I hope you like it. Framed Print / Canon 5D, 17-40mm at 24mm (cropped), f/11, 1/20 sec, ISO 100.
