  • Port Phillip Bay in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

  • Maitland River close to Goderich, Ontario, Canada

  • Taken in Mooloolaba this morning. Had to get up at 2am to be there on time but it was rewarding.

  • Going back to places I have been over and over before. Different tides reveal formations not seen before which is an incentive to visit the place over and over again…I am now looking forward to the low pressure system currently developing…interesting days ahead

  • Rock formations at low tide. Taken with my 5D and the EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM lens. This is a 82mm lens and I am currently using Cokin Filters (handheld).....uuuuurrgh. I am very keen to get a Lee Neutral Density Filter set. If you have this setup I would be very interested to hear from you what experiences you have made in regards to vignetting and what Lee components you have mounted on your lens. Thanks heaps

  • Happy New Year everyone! This shot was taken at the Sunshine Coast just before Christmas 2007….well it’s an old shot isn’t it. Taken with my Canon 5D and the EF 16-35mm f/2.8 L II USM Lens. No Filter has been used but I did some fake HDR processing (single shot) using Dynamic Photo HDR. It’s a fun program and a great alternative to Photomatix.

  • Full moon to the left…airport to the right, a nugget in the sea and a sprinkled sky 13 Sec Exposure / Focal Length 16.0 mm / F6.3

  • At the beach of Alanya (Turkey)...

  • This 3D-illustration is made with Lightwave-3D, my favorite 3Dapp. The combination of this fun toy and the feeling of sliding out in a boat an early morning makes a great idea for a picture. / I have permission from Lego to show this artwork.

  • This was taken in Little Lakes Valley, Eastern Sierras, Ca. I have submitted a few different photos from this hike and the lighting was just so intimate that I may just remember that day forever. This is the one furthest down the trail and closest to the mountains in the background. There are many meadows along the trail and they are usually very lush but by summer’s end they start to dry out like this. I thought it made for some nice contrast. You can see a little bit of the trail on the right leading into the pines.

  • This photo is taken on the magnificent stone beaches of Jæren on the southwest coast of Norway. The coast here changes between rock and sand and just a few meters to the left of this location you will find the finest sand beach.

  • It is not how it looked in the viewfinder but it is how I wanted it to look in the end. The process of creating photographs is one with endless possibilities between the accurate recordings and significant transformations through camera settings and post processing steps. There is no "right" way to do all this and all options are available – at least for the open minded. So we choose the shutter speed, set the aperture, widen the angle or zoom in, highlight some elements, darken others, sharpen somethings, blur others, saturate and de-saturate, blend and hide,... all which change and transform the raw photo into something interesting for the eye – at times even visual art. Here I tried to create a piece of work that resembled the reality but also transcended into new visual dimensions which could not be seen by the human eye on location – merely in my mind. The long exposure and various post processing steps made this possible. The raw material was captured on Havskåren, a tiny island in the Oslofjord by the Nøtterøy archipelago. I posted this because I liked how the composition turned out. I also love the colors – muted yet warm and inviting. Earth colors. I hope you enjoy this work as much as I enjoyed creating it.

  • Dubrovnik Old Town is listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site since 1979. / Dubrovnik’s Bokar Fortress. Taken August 2007 as everyone had fled the Old Town one Summer’s evening, as fires menaced the city’s edge. The colors were eerie in their beauty. / Serving the purpose of protecting the Pile moat and entrance to the Old Town, and as store of ammunition and smaller canon, it is located as this photo shows, right on the sea. Original construction commenced in 1461, and function in artillery exercises commenced as early as 1463, though later plans by Michelozzo in 1570 determined its final appearance. In modern times, like many of the other impressive fortresses, Bokar serves as a unique venue for Summer Festival classics and performances.

  • / / / original pencil drawing ...stayed up very late drawing “Nature’s Child”... you know when it’s time for a baby to be born, i think it’s very similar with art… the inspiration just comes when it’s ready…and sometimes that means drawing til 3am like i did with this one. ...the drawing took about 3 hours, and the digital colouring took about 5 hours today. ...inspired by some fantastic eyes i’ve seen lately, (drawn by people on RB) and the dear little willy wagtails…they are so cheeky…they aren’t authentic in colour here, because they are always black and white with little markings above the eye…but i have put their essence into the work hopefully. I think this is my favourite so far :) /
