The iconic Cottesloe Buoy , Have been mean to shot this for a while and got this 5 image panorama stitch . Mixed drawing media, acrylic, collage, banana fibre basketry on canvas. Work exhibited and sold Cairns Regional Gallery, Postcard Exhibition. / Artist Statement / The basket/vessel imagery used is a symbol-metaphor for our being, how we fill ‘with meaning’ (open, receptive, upright form) and empty, pour out (upside down image) our ’’thoughtful’’ thoughts in words and deeds! The colours used and ‘x’ shapes imply one’s physical and spiritual ‘connections’ and ‘relationships’ as we keep transforming as humans ‘being’. I also relate the vessel images to the music symbol shapes of the ‘U’ and its inverted – ‘upside down U’ (which I cannot type literally). They relate to processes of how much we are open/receptive/for transcending our physical ‘barriers’ to beyond and closed/blocking out/used as a protective barrier/nurture. These two shapes in ‘reflection’ symbolize eg. duality, opposites ie. yin and yan, etc., are a representation of one’s life’s-work and of giving and receiving.

I couldn’t believe this girl. Even my wife had to explain to me she was only wearing body paint! Yet there she was….naked from the waist up and standing on a small podium at a street party to mark Adelaide’s Tour Down Under (an international bicycle road race) that had attracted more than 5,000 people.

Found some time to stitch another photo together from my trip down the South West of Western Australia . Most people who live in WA will know this spot . Its the Natural Bridge in Albany , a huge granite rock face which the ocean has carved out a bridge over many years . Pretty dangoures place to photography after sunset with the massive waves crashing against the rocks . Here is Dottie. She is totally recovered from the many stitches she needed. From the injury she got last time she went with us into the bush. This was her first big day out again. Here she was begging for a piece of manderin. She loves her food. She even eats raw carrots. One healthy dog, she is.

Last weekend we went up to the Axamer Lizum, some kilometers from Innsbruck. In winter it’s a pretty popular skiing area, in summer only a couple of tourists and locals find their way to the Lizum for a hike. / In a way that’s a pity, as you get a great view of the mountain scene around Innsbruck. On the other hand it’s just great, as you can hike and enjoy the nature and scenery and not really worry about too many people around. This photo was taken at the Hochtennboden, at some 2357m looking to the North-East.
