Molly the Lil Witch, A Heidi for Oscar by Paul Rees-Jones Well You have heard the tale of Molly the witch, / And the doll folk she made in a pinch. The story doesn’t end quite there, / Cause Oscar needed someone fair. Molly’s heart went out to her lovesick little man, / She asked Oscar to put some stuffing in her hand. She used it to make a wonderful girl, / With a cute smile and hair without curls. She called her Heidi and Oscar just stared, / Molly could see how much he cared. Ophelia, was not too impressed / To her this girl was a complete mess. Already she saw her brother’s love show, / Unfortunately for Heidi, she had to go. Ophelia worked out 22 tries, / knowing one would spell that Heidi’s demise. and so we shall wait and see what transpires, / As Ophelia prepares balloons, pits, spikes, and fires.

Thoughts become Things is a mixed media production on thick watercolour paper. / The painting emphasises the idea that ‘thoughts become things’....here is a creative little girl geting stuck into making all sorts of things while relaxing in the bath (where she gets inspiration)....Just like me, when the inspiration comes it doesn’t matter where you are or what you’re doing, you just begin the creative process…..be it in the bathtub, shower, sitting on the loo…..that’s artists for you :D newspaper sealed with wax, fabric, thread, stitching, little typewritten texts pasted on, buttons, wool, string, golden thread, buttons, feathers, felt, you name it, it’s in this painting….

Every day men and women are having cosmetic / surgery to appear as if they were on the red carpet / in Hollywood. ‘Worn Rabbit’ is an extension from the original series of 9 Animal Designs that are 4” x 4” canvas blocks that I created at end of 2007. I’ve utilised the selected pink or acrylic from the original series and inks on a distressed photo that I took and printed out on paper from one of my many sketch pads. The animal design series represents what we could be left with if we don¹t take care of nature and all it¹s creatures. With their charming toy like appearance, they could just end up like childhood memories.

Just laying on the floor in the old farm house was this beautiful old Singer sewing machine, pretty much all intact, even still had its foot pedal control and a plug!, i had to stand it up to take a couple of shots, if i wasnt such an honest person i could quite easily have taken this home and restored it!
