Acrylics on A3..ish brown card. / Well we were actually supposed to focus on building up the image and painting the person behind the face or some hippy thing like that but i just heard paint a self portrait, so i did. No white paint used, I looked at using lighter toned colours for toning, did end up using some black though. I think the best part is the mouth, I’m really happy with the way that part worked out.

I did this mural a while back in gooseberry hill, here’s the collage i did of the details n stuff of it / and well, that home is now a bed and breakfast and I’ve been asked to continue my work on a wall in the next outdoor room beside the area i last painted! / My mural has also been a main feature of the BnB’s magazine advertisement as well as in a slide show photo gallery on their web site! check that out here / Keep an eye on this page, , for updates on the mural as it reaches completion.

I’m trying to use a composition method with this one, inspired by ‘Hide And No Seek’, in which the hair complimented the backdrop of woodgrain, here, I’m complimenting the pin strip sleeve with a pin stripped backdrop.
