  • I took one look at this thought of ‘Swing swing by The All American Rejects’ / It reminds of a silly time pre-teen time, when I was so naive, but life was a little less stressful. I was 13 and I can still remember sneaking my headphone’s into my ear in the middle of class. / This shot took ages literary overnight, I was still doing it at 3am then I was like this is crazy I need to sleep, / heres the before and after / http://www.flickr.com/photos/ar_photography/3257119412/

  • Photo taken from the bridge (deck 6) of our trusty little ship Polar Pioneer while crossing Drakes Passage. It was taken one handed as I held on for grim death with the other, lol. The ship was built as an ice breaker, as a result it has a much more rounded hull and NO stabilisers. During the first 24 hours of the crossing we had constant 8 meter seas coming at a 45 degree angle on the port beam. During the second 24 hours nothing much had changed except the seas had increased to 10+ meters. Made for interesting meal times. 100% of proceeds received from Redbubble in respect to sales of this item, will be donated to Bush Heritage Australia

  • This is my first attempt playing with food dye, water and my computer monitor as a brightly lit backdrop. See here for how I created this shot. (The stack of dvds were implemented after this shot was taken) / / This was pretty damn difficult without a tripod or assistant.. One hand holding the camera , one hand holding the dropper, full of dye. Having to get focus on the camera, hold it straight, shoot and drop the dye at once.. I need a tripod haha! / / I had heaps of fun trying to make this work though. Soon learning that dropping the dye closer to the front of the glass allowed for more clarity in the shot. / / The next step will be multiple colours, but not till a tripod is involved lol. Featured in Color & Light / Featured in Out Of The Blue / Featured in The Beginners Corner / / Slight crop of original, adjustment of brightness and contrast for colour control. / / Canon 50D / 58mm, 18 – 55 / f5, 1/320, ISO 1600 / / MCN:CRR2W-5HDN9-7U4H3

  • Round two of the Rainbow Drowning project. See here for how I created this shot. (The stack of dvds were implemented after this shot was taken) / / Was holding the camera portrait for these ones, to get a bit more depth and length in the shots. The dye squirted harder than expected, causing a fast and long rippling effect in the water. / / Loved the contrast between light and dark in these ones and the background blur too. / / Crop of original shot, with adjustment of brightness and contrast. No other enhancements to this series. Featured in The Male Photographer / / Canon 50D / 58mm, 18 – 55 / F5.6, 1/80, ISO 400 / / / / / / MCN:CW9F2-AMK6S-WPAKR

  • THE KNOWING OF LOVE (Part 1/7)
    by cosimopiro

My love for you / is the awakening of larva

INTRODUCTION / Love has many faces to show us and is different to each of us at different times. It has no gender or sense of time, race, or beliefs. It is what it is to us as we need it. It isn’t deceitful, angry, greedy or envious. We are the wardens of those misfits. It is nurturing and comforting, if we so choose, and it gives of itself unconditionally. The more we open our hearts to its light the brighter it becomes. It can be intense or passionate when first encountered, or revitalised with energy after a long slumber. / I have written a seven part poem that I will submit over a few days and hope you enjoy the journey as much as I have. This for me was a wander into a maze that is my subconscious where memories wait patiently to live again. It probably is more observational than a personal account, but nevertheless a part of me. No doubt I haven’t touched on all matters and there is more that can be added to this. Your comments are always welcome.

  • The most stunning hour is an hour before dawn… nature starts to wake up…birds start singing… and ocean awakens as well… This is the magical light that wakes him up… It can be red, pink, orange even magenta… Ocean likes them all. And at once he starts to gather strength to cheer the Sun on its rising with big waves, but that’s another story :) Tamarama Beach, Sydney, Australia
