  • So you caught me eating this piece of wood? ...for that you must die…

  • I was wondering around Scotish Loch looking for my usual landscape kind of shot when I thought I would try my hand at a bit of macro work

  • They look really soft but I don’t recomend petting them. / It was very tolerant of me and I was able to get within 3-4 inches and get some really / good shots of his eyes. Who knew they had green eyes?

  • So cute it’s evil to the core! Retro “evilCore”Designed by indie artist Eric Murphy of sadmachine.com Copyright 2004-2007.

  • I was trying the macro setting on my 70-300mm lens in a field of flowers surrounded by these buzzing Bumbles. I am definetly going to invest in a dedicated macro lens… any suggestions as to what to get? I use a Canon 400D.

  • I was looking for subjects to Photograph in my Parents’ garden and was about to put my Camera away when my Mum reminded me that there was a nest of Paper Wasps just above the door of the grannyflat in their house. I climbed up on to a ladder and slowly moved toward the Wasps. They weren’t at all fazed by my presence. I fired a test flash and they didn’t seem to care at all. Once I knew that they were relatively calm, I was able to snap off a few shots. I didn’t stay too long though, as I didn’t want to find out if their patience would wear thin! This shot was by far the best one of the day.

  • “Ghost in the Machine” was the title of a book authored by Arthur Koestler. Koestler claims that mankind is moving towards self-destruction. Koestler states that the human brain is built upon primitive brain structures, and that these are the “ghost in the machine”. At times these structures can overpower higher logical functions, and are responsible for hate, anger and other such destructive impulses. The Police titled their 1981 album “Ghost in the Machine”. This is where I first heard of this concept. My t-shirt design interpretation of this attempts to graphically represent that man made machines manifest behaviours or events that cannot be explained. These behaviours or events are not programmed, they are the product of the machine taking its own course. These are reflections of our primitive destructive impluses within the machines that we have created…. as the machines are a reflection of us, they are likely to display self destructive behaviour just as we do….. • Matted Print Sold – Thank you! I spent countless hours the past 2 summers trying to obtain that certain bee in flight shot. I have several images but none of them were quite what I had hoped for and envisioned. The 70-200 faster lens was used, the macro with and without flash – every shutter speed setting, DOF, you name it…I tried it! I also assumed I could not obtain a focused in flight shot using my macro, with flash, and a 1/200 ss. I believe I was wrong :o) Even with the proper settings, and prime conditions, obtaining the proper timing with these busy little bees is an art in itself! / Bugs are Beautiful / ADD RENEE TO YOUR WATCHLIST /

  • I was very fortunate to meet Quentin Crisp when I was younger. My first encounter with him made me feel very, very embarrassed. He was presenting his one man show in the Duke of York’s Theatre when he asked the audience to write questions they might like to ask him on bits of paper. I wrote my question….. After the interval he took the questions and read them out loud. Some of them where very silly, pertaining to his first sexual encounter etc…he managed to answer them in a fashion that only he knew how. He then suddenly read my question out once, then twice and declared that it was extremely interesting. He got up, looked at the audience and then asked the person who wrote the question to stand up and repeat the question to everyone. My friend who was sitting next to me told Quentin that I had written the question. He looked at me and then asked me to stand up. I was so very nervous, I wish I hadn’t written anything…...My question was….What is the first creative thing we do as humans? / From this encounter I came to know Quentin a little better. I remember being very sad when he left for New York. He was one of the most interesting people I had met in my life. I gave him a small painting as a going away present, which he told me he would keep. He still holds a special place in my heart. / This picture came out from the ice/snow series and for some reason it made me think of him. Someone once asked him what would happen to him after life and he replied that he hoped he would be dead…..Why I thought of him today, I don’t know, you can all work that out for yourselves. 9/12 From The Ice, Snow Painting Series/Experiments…. Thanks to Pryere – for taking these photographs. In memory of Quentin Crisp Music – Englishman In New York – Sting 12th February 2009
