This image inspired a collaboration with / chord0 / / His poem God’s love in Nature suite this image perfectly. God’s love in Nature / When slight and silenced, / With rumors of corollas and wings, / Is love that fills everything! / Have agitated waves / And the deep vertigo / Of the abyss and the distance. / Life and Death, eternal Love / Of pain and exuberance, / Keep me chained / To the light of his Word / And that sleeps at dusk / In the footprints of the plants. Please check his writings and gallery Bacara Beach in Santa Barbara, California during magic hour at dusk. The pier in the background is for the oil company use only, to load and unload personnel and supplies for the oil rigs in the Channel Islands passage. / Image was taken using HDR technique. —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-- / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-- /

  • Alone on Stilts
    by billyboy

    US$3.42–US$91.20

House on stilts near St. Augustine Fla. Shot on Kodak high speed infra red film, negative scanned to PS on a Canon negative scanner. I’ve also had this manually printed, but the digital version is every bit as true to the original print… and a lot less trouble.

  • Folk Devils and Moral Panics / This is artwork I have just completed for one-man-music-show Onemancabal / I just wanted to share this piece because I am so very proud of it, I put my heart and soul into this work – and I think when you listen to the music you’ll agree it suits. The idea for this piece was to create a long artwork that would be divided into the various parts of the CD packaging – so the far left is the cover, with the middle section on the inside front cover and the inlay, and the far right is the back of the CD. My intention was to have just a few characters coming onto the front and back of the case, to entice people to open it up and be blown away by the intricate illustration inside. Like a reward for buying the CD! We wanted to have innocent looking characters with a slightly sinister edge to them – reflecting the music (which has some beautiful folky, traditional sounds but isn’t all it seems). It was a great blend of my two distinctive styles and I am absolutely in love with it! / I’ll be posting details and credits on my website soon – and perhaps some snap shots of how it all came together…enjoy! P.S This is only a demo CD, so fingers crossed Onemancabal gets signed and we can all buy his beautiful music…

  • Black Winged Stilt
    by Ché Ballard

    US$4.56–US$121.60

Black Winged Stilt (Himantopus himantopus) The Black-winged Stilt is a large (35 to 39 cm) black and white wader with long orange-red legs and a straight black bill. It has black on the back of the neck, a white collar and a red iris. Both sexes are similar, and the plumage does not change during the year. Black-winged Stilts give a repeated high-pitched barking call. Young Black-winged Stilts lack black on the back of the neck and have grey-brown wings and back, speckled with white. They have a smudged grey crown, which extends down the back of the neck as the birds get older. Black-winged Stilts are related to Banded Stilts, Cladorhynchus leucocephalus, which have a broad chestnut band across the breast (absent in young birds) and lack the black on the back of the neck. Young Banded Stilts can be separated from young Black-winged Stilts by their all white back and black wings.

Waiting for the right moment. Stilt fisherman, south coast, Sri Lanka. Stilt fishing is still a common practice in costal regions. Fishermen wade through shallow waters in bays and coves to climb their fishing poles, and then wait patiently for the fish to arrive. This age-old tradition is often carried out during the night and is passed on from father to son. 10% of profits will assist children’s charities in Sri Lanka.
