This is a typical Australian clothes line, an icon known as the “Hills Hoist”. During the 1950’s, most homes had these installed during building. But now they are rare and hard to find. A few minutes earlier a group of young mothers and a lovely young child were sitting here. This one solitary castle is all that remains. Location: Hanson Bay Inlet from river to beach. Hard as it is to believe, this tractor is blue. The engine is black power-coated and all the metal fittings are a bright blue. You can see a hint of it through the grease and grime. So it made me laugh when I shot this image. This old car is a permanent feature amongst the gum-trees on my father-in-law’s top paddock. You can tell how long it’s been sitting there by the branches growing in, around and over its body! A fenced area nearby to the Kingscote Jetty. I suspect it has some historic importance, but no tourist-signage could be found. Does anyone know what this is about? Tell me what you think of this piece of roadway that leads down passed the Adelaide Festival Centre. I had this as a wallpaper on my desktop at work. A colleague asked if it were one of mine. Upon saying that it was, where it was taken, etc … they mentioned they liked it. To which I asked (as I do), “It’s not yet on my redbubble gallery. If it were, would you like it as a card or frame?” / They smiled, and said they’d love to see what I’d do with the image. That was about three weeks ago. I’ve been pondering which direction to go. Mostly, this is not much different from the original photograph. A slight bit of straightening (horizontally), slight deepening of dark colours and brightening of the lighter colours. Found on the side of the road near my mother-in-law’s place. The wife and I had gone out for a ‘macro photography’ walk around Kingscote (Kangaroo Island … and this was spotted on the bitumen less than 50metres down the road! LOCATION: Found in a side-street nearby to where I live. This sheet of green metal is being used as a gate on a dilapidated fence. A stitched panorama of five photographs, this bushland is on family property near Oakbank in the Adelaide Hills, South Australia. The landscape is very brown on these hills, yet their is luscious green grasses sporadically across the valley. As it turns out, the valley is prone to flooding during massive downpours, so the soil must retain a lot of the moisture throughout the year. Unfortunately this scenery is on the next property, not on my Bro-in-law’s. Thankfully I can photograph the scenery!
