  • In the recent years, Buddhism has made a large impact to many. From the belief to the practising of yoga to the images and decor of Buddha himself, in one way or another we tend to include him in our lives. His feet – in practice – is kissed for his blessings and to show respect. Taken in Sukothai, Thailand on 19 September 2004 – where I found serenity and content.

  • The Siamese had a few tales on how the head ended up here. One, the Burmese-Siamese civil war damaged the ancient statues. Two, the French had cut off all Buddha heads when they conquered in the late 1600s. Three, burglars had tried to steal the head but it was too heavy so they gave up and left it. And last (but not least), burglars had tried to steal the head to sell at lucrative prices but were chased by guards. To hide the head they left it in the woods. Whichever tale you believe, years upon years tree roots had overgrown the head – as if protecting it from bad intentions. / This picture was taken in the second ancient city, Ayutthya, Thailand.

  • This is an existing piece from my folio which has received the least amount of attention. Rather than delete it altogether, I thought I would give it a bit of a revamp and see what happens. Blanched out the colour, added a texture and some spotlighting effect. Taking this photo back by an entire generation. It makes me think of the end of an old silent film, the image about to fade to black. All done in photoshop.
