I just wanted to thank everyone whose popped on over to my page in the last 8 months to check out my stuff. Tonight I havejust hit 40,000 views. / That is so far beyond what I thought I could achieve when I initially joined the bubble. Five (un) Official RedBubble statistics for March 2008

It seems the RedBubble caboose has been dragged along nicely by the RB inhabitants during March 2008. It’s come to my attention, via a large brown envelope delivered by a male courier dressed in a polka dot dress, that there’s five remarkable statistics being secretly spoken about in RB headquarters. They may, or may not, come as a shock to us all. Stats during March 2008 1. Only 56,893 complaints were submitted by RB members under the hate and vilification speech option. This figure is down substantially from 69,696 due to Collingwood Football Club now being involved in active competition for season 2008. 2. 7345 photos of cats were uploaded, and this represents a substantial increase of 69.69% compared to February. Photos of pussy remain popular at RB. 3. RB headquarters staff have consumed 17 large tins of International Boast coffee, 592 packets of Iced Vo Vos and five parts of Justin French’s anatomy. No surprises there. 4. Only 108,274 sincere comments were made on artists’ work. This is a worrying trend. 5. The pace at which new groups are being added to RedBubble continues to concern members. With view counts being a high priority, RB staff are continually being pressured behind the scenes to surpass the 58,329 groups on Flickr. RB staff are currently working feverishly on bronze medals and animated GIF’s as we speak.

Hey-Ya, you right ? (english greeting) Just a quick question before I go to bed, I have close to 200 gbs of photos from my trip, and a few days before we head home. Can anyone suggest a really good, clean and easy to use program for image management. I’m considering Lightroom or imatch but I haven’t tried either but both come strongly recommended from friends/peers. What do other people use, I’d like something that I can easily view and sort, and probably tag and catergorise my 1000’s of photos. This will be the last for me in a while, maybe up to a week, depending on the state of our house (hopefully its not underwater). / Cheers, / Craig

10.000 views! (well I’ve seen everyone else journaling about it, so I thought, what the heck)! I thought once you’d hit the 10.000 mark, a flashing red light might appear, and alarm bells might scream out from the monitor, but seeing those digits are enough for me. Thanks to all who have viewed my work, and all who continue to do so… it means the world… Thanks, jen :-)

If you’re anything like me (and… help you if you are), you need an edge. Well how about this? In Australia there are more single women than men. No, really. And you know what, but that’s a numerical fact too compelling to ignore, or leave off a T-Shirt. It rocks, rolls and kicks ass. Because you’re in demand, baby. Advantage YOU. (That said… it’s probably worth showing a little bit of humility, and noting that that other than your stunning good looks, magnetic personality, and usually quite acceptable grooming habits… some part of your demand may be simply statistics. The ladies dig honesty and humility. I’m told)

Got my four thousandth hit today (yay), ten days after hitting the three thousand mark, so daily average views is improving. This makes me happy. Viewing hits factored into this four thousand are from just the art and clothing; I don’t count writing or journal entries, as they don’t really have anything to do with why I joined redbubble. Why is the bubble so addictive??? I can spend hours on it, ignoring everything around me, even forgetting to eat. By the time I get up and move around, I’m so stiff I can barely ambulate, but by then it’s time to go to bed anyway, so I suppose I don’t have to be too spry then. Anyway, I figure that hitting an “X”-thousand milestone is a good enough occasion to journalize. Anxious to see how long the next thousand takes. Not that I obsess on the stats at all … nooo, I’m just here for the purdy pikshers. Oh, and selling something once in a while doesn’t hurt … A BIG THANK YOU to whoever just bought my Christmas card, Christmas Lignt. 20 Dec 07 – NEW Update. I did not post an update when I got to the five thousand mark, but it did not take as long from four thousand to five as the earlier thousand marks took. Today I got to six thousand, two weeks after the four, so that means my daily average viewing hits have about doubled. If this trend continues, I will be a happy woman indeed. Have been feeling a tad depressed after reading thru the forum thread where people are telling how many views they have. The number of hits that some people get is phenomenal, incredible, amazing, etc.; they get hits and favoritings, and sales … I want all that, too. Meanwhile, I am still just happy to be here and to have met so many wonderful people and made some great new friends … you know who you are … Jamie, Mark, Susan, and of course my dear friend Lizzie, who I met on ImageKind; and can’t forget Elf, also on IK and RB. You guys make being on redbubble a real joy. Thank you for your support, encouragement, and comments. 25 Dec 07 – Seven thousand views today, art and clothing. I still do not factor in views for journal entries or writing, as do some. I just don’t consider those views relevant to the artwork I’ve posted. Ennyhoo, the most recent thousand took five days to reach, so the good news is the average number of daily views is increasing. Yayyy. 30 Dec 07 – Final update for this year. It took five days to get from six thousand to seven thousand views, and five days after that (today) I got to eight thousand views, so the average is two hundred a day for art and clothing combined. Yayyy, again. Previously, I did not factor in views to my writing (one piece) or journal entries, but will begin now to include journal views in with the art and t-shirts, because most of my journal entries are collections of pictures in specific subjects. That said, my journal views are at about 500 right now, giving me 8,500+ views in the three categories (I still will not factor the writing views into my total because I continue to consider my writing irrelevant). I don’t know if anybody will ever see these updates, because who goes into old journal entries that they’ve read before? However, I will keep tacking on my progress updates into this journal, because I don’t want to insert a written entry ahead of my picture journals. The only new journals I will add will be for a new picture collection. So I feel very secret and hidden here. Can probably write ANYthing and nobody will ever know … ooooh. With the eighty five hundred views now to my credit, I will not post another progress update until I break ten thousand, hopefully sometime in the first week of the new year. Fingers crossed. January 8, 2008: OK, I hit ten thousand some time recently, today, two days ago, whatever. Counting is somewhat pointless at this time, as when one deletes or hides a piece in a portfolio, any views to that person’s or that portfolio’s credit are lost to the count. Also, whenever one checks out the public view of anything in one’s own portfolio, that artificially adds to the count. That said, I am happy to have somewhere in the vicinity of ten thousand views in art, shirts, and journal entries (which I didn’t used to count but do now because they relate directly to the art in my portfolio). It gives me a ballpark idea of how I’m doing, but it really has not resulted in an increased rate of sales, nor has it resulted in any further RB homepage features. So. How does one define success? I feel hugely successful when I post an artwork that people respond to in a positive manner. What else is art for, anyway? Sure it would be nice to be featured once in a while, and it would be nice to sell more. But I don’t live off my artwork; I won’t starve if I never sell another piece. I am still appreciative of the fact that RedBubble is the best way that I have found to showcase my work, and I am extremely happy with the positive feedback from other artists, and I am blessed by the new friends I have made here. Though I may take a rough count on occasion for my own amusement, but I don’t believe I will be posting any more count updates. A sale, yes; a feature, certainly, or if a particular picture enjoys an abundance of hits on its own, but no more count totals. Now. I got dishes to do.
