Beautiful American Flag and Fireworks image. Great to hang or use as a greeting Card.
This photo was taken in Antelope Canyon, which is in northern Arizona, USA. Antelope Canyon is a slot canyon, carved out of sandstone by monsoon rains. The rays of the sun only enter the canyon during certain times of the year, and only in the middle of the day. Rays like these are uncommon, and are best seen on a windy day. This was such an incredible gift from God. It reminds me of the fact that I couldn’t make art at all if it were not for His gifts: the beauty of the world, light, and the passion and desire on my part. To make this image, I traveled hundreds of miles from home, to a place that I had longed to visit for years, at a time of the year when I felt I would see rays. I had gone through the entire canyon, and it seemed as if when I got to a place where there was a ray, it had already largely faded. I was disheartened, and as at the entrance when I saw a group of people, and a photographer with a tripod set up. I turned around to see what he was photographing, and this is what I saw! The sand in the air that day wrecked two camera bodies, but it was SOOO worth it! This is the photo that has attracted the most attention to my work and also my all-time favorite. It is hard to find a scene that inspires me like this one, but I hope someday my photography in general will measure up to this one photo.
This composite was made specialy for a the “chaos” challenge last year.I just let myself go and tried something different from what I use to do.I had a old picture from my trip in France when I went skiing in the Alps. The black stain at the left is,in fact,a restaurant at the “Trois Vallées” resort and you also can see the skier’s traces on the snow…. :)) I did a double layer with a shot of the moon taken with my Panasonic FZ-20…some coloring “et voilà”.....just for fun….
Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado…..and how I love shooting up there when the winter weather begins to roll on in…the wind is bad, the air—-freezing cold, but the images that one can capture are filled with atmosphere and drama, case in point, this shot here. I about froze my butt off getting this shot of Mummy Mountain, but I wanted something that really showed all the detail here….that represented what it’s all about being a nature photographer in Colorado…... / Thoughts welcomed! / HDR blending used to bring out more dramatic light and detail / John
Taken from the top of the Rockefeller centre. I’m not very good with landscapes and cityscapes, but I’ve always wanted to go visit the city and get some black and white shots of it.
Another shot from the top of the rock.

Catherine Walker of Redbubble was joking about how she’d love to buy a castle to live in and that reminded me of this drawing I once did of a stately home three miles from where I live. As the owners are finding it expensive to run it is now up for sale. Don’t all rush at once, but if you’d like a nice home with a history and (reputedly) the ghost of a lady dressd in white then here is the bargain of a lifetime … a mere snip at only £13.2 million ($26 million approx.). Clematis aristata is an Australian climbing plant found in the forests of the eastern states. When this was taken it was pouring – rain all over the camera and lens! In the gloom these three good spirits were nicely aligned and oblivious to the turmoil around them. The Litae were the daughters of Eris and Zeus and sisters of Ate. After Zeus cast Ate to earth from Mt. Olympus, she wandered around, causing mischief. The Litae trailed behind her, doing their best to fix the problems she created – Greek mythology.
One of the reasons I love Redbubble so much, is the inspiration that other artists give me. Some time ago my australian mate Michael Bermingham posted Old Yanchep Inn which to me is a timeless classic. Then Shelly Hiebert posted Sacred which is just a fantastic image. I always wanted to get a shot similar to both of those and digging through my archives back to 2007, I came across this image I took with my Nikon D50 in the Madison State Capitol building. A little HDR processing, converted to B&W, little noise reduction applied, some Dodge & Burn (which Kimberly Palmer first introduced me to) and this is what I came up with. Please also look at Michael’s and Shelly’s image, as well as Kimberly’s work.
As Is… / Canon PowerShot S3 IS Fawn bedding down for the night after a full meal. Many fawns loose their mothers, and when found by us, they are fed till they can fend for themselves, and go back to the wild. They are penned only till they have become comfortable, and know their food source. Which in most cases is only about a week. Then they run wild, and are fed till they wonder off for good, and answer the call of the wild.

Lake Falls in Matthiessen State Park is possibly the most magical, spiritual waterfall I have ever photographed. It is special and always blesses me with a wonderful spiritual feel to it. It inspires me to be religous in some way that I cannot explain. / The whirlpool is like God. He has no beginning and no end.
