Worth going to the larger view – lots more stars. / I shot this in winter under a full moon at about midnight at Lake Eucumbene in the Snowy Mountains, Australia. This was my first shoot outside at night in winter. It was minus 5 degrees and when I got back home and my fingers started to thaw out I couldn’t believe the pain – Lesson 1 for winter night shots – wear mittens at the very least! / These trees were drowned along with a whole valley to create a man-made lake as part of a hydro scheme in the 1950s. They’ve resurfaced as a result of a drought we’ve been having for the last few years courtesy of global warming.

I love this background I created for another photo, but the children in it were not mine and I don’t have permission to put them on the web. / I found an old photo of my daughter so I have adapted the background to suit and added wings. I would welcome any (constructive)suggestions for improvement as I am fairly new to this. The photo of my daughter is someone else’s and the lilies are clip art I think. I found them in a folder on my computer. The gates are also part of a clip art image.

Last night I dreamt about my Dad, the one I knew and adored as a child. I dream about him sometimes and when I do, it leaves me with a longing so intense, a melancholy I can’t seem to shake. So I guess I’ll shake it here for you.

Had a good night out last night with the Ol Man. We packed our swags into his 4WD and headed up to the Mountains for some night photography…. Nice thing about night photography is it is very civilised…. Lock the shutter open for 10 or 12 minutes… get the chair out… pour a nice glass of red wine… sit back and watch the stars…. Great way to pass the evening… then roll out the swag and go to sleep under the stars. I can think of worse ways of spending a night ;-) Enjoy
