Well, it is that time of year again, when the pumpkins are ripe and out in the fields. The corn stalks are turning brown and for us the leaves are just starting to turn colors. Welcome to autumn.

Papilio palinurus Being stalked by a mantis…..........
Lurking in the shadows; right inside your house. Skin dead and torn; needing someone elses fluids. The knife is ever ready to open flesh and free the red liquid within.
I was at a loss for a title for this one…..and after staring at this image…this title is the one that struck me.

Taken during the bushfires in NE Vic 06-07. The smoke made for a great filter and spectacular sunsets.
This photo is straight out of the camera. Here is Mittens again, stalking me as I was taking the photo. He was in a very playful mood and actually pounced on the camera a few times.
These two little loverbirds sat on this stalk for about half an hour, preening each other.
. the is the reversed 180° from the original. both are nice to look at (and give a different impact as the calming red being on top gives another feeling) but I though about submitting this one reversed when I saw slippers pending (instead of stamen tips… lol) / ask me if you’d like to see the other one. I can offer both as prints (Raw converted into Jpeg)
Sorry I didnt post a description when I first posted this…I was trying to figure out exactly what to put…. First off…this was originally a photo that I edited in photoshop….and the stalks may resemble cattails….but actually they are the seed stalks of wildflowers…when the bloom and beauty is gone…these seeds are left to start a bew beginning. I named this Tranquil mainly because for some reason..this piece brings me a form of peace…or tranquility…I suppose the emotions behind this one are dear to me..and that is why it makes it that much more special…I have been a little stressed over some personal stuff today..and I saw these fluffy little stalks on the side of the road and I fell in love with the texture…they were swaying in the wind and the sun was highlighting them as if they were glowing…but to me..they appeared so gentle and soft and represented a new beginning..and new start…after all, a seed begins a new life….I had some emotions pent up and I had this image in my mind (or something similar to it) and this was the result…I hope that you like it! Oh…and I am feeling much better and more rejuvinated now…Thank you everyone for your comments and support! Suni
