  • The day summer arrived and it got stinking hot. This shot was taken at 5am and not a cloud in sight. The days temperature climbed up to 40.2°C in Brisbane. Summer is over is just over a week. This morning was certainly what I would expect in winter, crisp, vibrant and cloudless. Keep it coming…love it

  • Slowly you will ascend these stairs, / A bundle of sun-colored leaves on your skirts, / And once you will look, crying, at the skies… The waters blanch.. as your face pales curtain-like, / As evening comes—observe the reddened air… / Ahmet Haşim This work sold as canvas prints and mounted prints http://freaky665.deviantart.com/ / http://causticstock.deviantart.com/ / http://night-fate-stock.deviantart.com/ / © Manolya F 2008. • I photographed this stairway while waiting for my friend at the elevator bank at the Hotel Astoria in Barcelona, Spain. (Thankfully there was a banister to hold on to.) • View from inside the Cocathedral St-Antoine-de-Padoue in Longueuil, Quebec built between 1884 and 1887. / This beautiful construction of gothic inspiration has been designed by two architects, Albert Mesnard and Henri-Maurice Perrault. There are two asymmetrical towers in front, a very rare occurrence in Canada, although there are a few in France. • African Daisy

  • for ANGEL WARDA her image: / an original black and white hope I did justice to you my friend!!

  • The grand staircase, this time shot with only available light/mirk for a more unsettling ‘Silent Hill’ look. Just a little light tone mapping to avoid burn-out and retain shadow detail, otherwise this is all natural – including the small scrap of very blue wallpaper in the bottom left.

  • IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BUY A CARD WITHOUT THE WHITE BORDERS, I HAVE UPLOADED A CROPPED VERSION HERE Featured in: / Childhood group / The love of Eerie and Enchanting Artwork / Freedom to shine group Picture inspired by poem: If tears could build a stairway / and thoughts a memory lane / I’d walk right up to heaven / and bring you home again / No Farewell words were spoken / No time to say good-bye / You were gone before I knew it / And only God knows why. My heart’s still active in sadness / And secret tears still flow / What it meant to lose you / No one can ever know. / But now I know you want us / To mourn for you no more / To remember all the happy times / Life still has much in store. Since you’ll never be forgotten / I pledge to you today / A hallowed place within my heart / Is where you’ll always stay. God knows why, with chilling touch, / Death gathers those we love so much, / And what now seems so strange and dim, / Will all be clear, when we meet Him. / I Knew you for a Moment Poem can be found here / Background Here

  • Acrylic on canson paper. Inspired while listening to “Stairway to Heaven” by Led Zeplin! / Theres a lady whos sure / All that glitters is gold / And shes buying a stairway to heaven. / When she gets there she knows / If the stores are all closed / With a word she can get what she came for. / Ooh, ooh, and shes buying a stairway to heaven. Theres a sign on the wall / But she wants to be sure / cause you know sometimes words have two meanings. / In a tree by the brook / Theres a songbird who sings, / Sometimes all of our thoughts are misgiven. / Ooh, it makes me wonder, / Ooh, it makes me wonder. Theres a feeling I get / When I look to the west, / And my spirit is crying for leaving. / In my thoughts I have seen / Rings of smoke through the trees, / And the voices of those who standing looking. / Ooh, it makes me wonder, / Ooh, it really makes me wonder. And its whispered that soon / If we all call the tune / Then the piper will lead us to reason. / And a new day will dawn / For those who stand long / And the forests will echo with laughter. If theres a bustle in your hedgerow / Dont be alarmed now, / Its just a spring clean for the may queen. / Yes, there are two paths you can go by / But in the long run / Theres still time to change the road youre on. / And it makes me wonder. Your head is humming and it wont go / In case you dont know, / The pipers calling you to join him, / Dear lady, can you hear the wind blow, / And did you know / Your stairway lies on the whispering wind. And as we wind on down the road / Our shadows taller than our soul. / There walks a lady we all know / Who shines white light and wants to show / How evrything still turns to gold. / And if you listen very hard / The tune will come to you at last. / When all are one and one is all / To be a rock and not to roll. And shes buying a stairway to heaven. / Led Zeplin / / featured in Core [C.O.R.E] / featured in Bagels and Lox – Jewish themed art and writing / featured in the Sisterhood

Best on Full Size I’m always fascinated by architecture … especially that which has seen better days. The stories these buildings could tell!!! This wonderful old stairway is located to the side of Dilbert’s General Merchandise which, it is my understanding, is soon to be torn down. It is located in Pavia, Pennsylvania, just off route 869. I took this hand-held image on February 22, 2009, in freezing temps during a light snowstorm with the Nikon D40x and the 18-200mm vr Nikon lens. Shutter was 1/125, aperture was 5.6, exp was .33, iso was 400. Post processing included hdr in Photomatix from 3 duplicated images at -/+2 eval. Companion piece to Dilbert’s General Merchandise

  • OOOHH!! How long was I passed out? These damn pictures are consuming me; I feel like they are eating my very soul. There is one more image to develop, should I dare? I must, I have to see what drove my Uncle mad in this house forsaken by God. OOOH!! What the hell can this monstrosity be? How did my poor crazy Uncle get out of this house without being torn from limb to limb? This demon from the depths of Hell looks like some sort of a warrior or guard, for the time being I shall call him the “Guardian of the House”. My mind is racing with all types of thoughts, I feel that I must go to this house and see for myself if this if real or not, or should I dare not? I might have myself driven mad like my Uncle. For the time being my dear friend cast your gaze on this new demonic image, while I think this over………… Best viewed Large Featured *Featured / Halloween Group 10/14/09 / Winner of the Halloween Art & Writing Challenge 10/14/09 / Featured Artist in the Halloween Group 10/14/09 / The Story 1 The Haunted / 2 / The Haunted 2 / 3 / The Haunted 3 / 5 / The Haunted 5 / Image copyright © 2009, Larry Fridel.
