This is a self-portrait of myself inspired by the art I always saw growing up as a Catholic. Just wondered how I might appear as a saint…...☺ / The original work was completed with watercolor and gouache media on Arches cold-press cotton rag.
Taken at Southwell Minster, Nottinghamshire, England. The minster is one of the most interesting and beautiful buildings I have ever been to. Southwell Minster dates back to the 12th century. It was once the retreat of the Archbishop of York. During the English Civil War, it was believed to be used as a stables for Cromwell. Southwell only became a diocese in the the late 19th Century. The window are so beautiful in the Minster. On this particular day, the light came streaming through by mid-morning. I love this shot. The ancient pillars become beautiful pallets of colour. Taken in St Grade Church, Ruan Minor, on the Lizard Peninsular in Cornwall, that was built in the 14c. / The sunlight was streaming through one of the stained glass windows, and left this colourful reflection on the floor, and a lovely colourful glow around the inside of the window. / This was the first time we have visited the church in all the years we have holidayed in the area. / We will certainly be visiting the church again this year. I hope you like it. / Thank you for looking. Pentax K110D. / Pentax 18-55mm Lens.

“Three Susans”, is a testament to the beauty of autumn’s, Black-eyed Susans. It seems the blooms never really decide whether to be yellow, or orange. But in the end it doesn’t matter… they are gorgeous. Three Susans, is done on watercolor paper. The basic color scheme is painted in with watercolor and markers, the finishing is done with color pencil. I used many shades of purple for the background that lends the piece a startling, yet strangely subtle contrast. I decorated this with some William Morris patterns and turned it into a window.
This is dedicated to the cats of my friend, Kathryn, who wait patiently for her to come back from her many trips across the world.
View from inside the Cocathedral St-Antoine-de-Padoue in Longueuil, Quebec built between 1884 and 1887. / This beautiful construction of gothic inspiration has been designed by two architects, Albert Mesnard and Henri-Maurice Perrault. There are two asymmetrical towers in front, a very rare occurrence in Canada, although there are a few in France. Old world creation technique was skillfully applied in the making of this Stained glass works.. It can be seen on display in Downtown St. Louis, Mo. at the Museum. It was created for display at the worlds fair there in the early 1900’s… This and other works of that time are highly cherished & collectable by many. Thanks for ck-ing it out here..

“Harmony” is a mixed media production (ink, pastel, acrylic) on canvas textured paper, the idea at first was to create a feeling of stained glass…i have a love of stained glass, and transparent things….i love light filtering through…and how light plays….i was looking for a name for the painting today….and ‘Harmony’ just seemed to go ‘hand in hand’ with these three friends

I don’t know how I missed this photo. I personally like it better than the other of the same horse that I uploaded before. / With this image, I want to also send an apology to all of my redbubble friends for neglecting them lately. There was my sister’s cancer, then this darn flu that won’t go away, not to mention that I’m finally getting some business calls and sales..yipee…BUT I haven’t felt like doing much-story of my life..lol….And I’m trying to rebuild my old website and link it to a new site, which isn’t even started yet, that will be strictly photography. The old site has just gotten so muddled and busy and I need to clean it up and since the photography seems to be growing on it’s own, I think it needs it’s own room so to speak:-) So, I’m sorry for my neglect. 2008 has been one crazy year but I promise I will be back soon and I will catch up. I appreciate all of you who still look at and comment on my work despite my absence and lack of activity here. Thank you!
When I start to create a digital abstract, I never really know what it’s going to end up like; sometimes something comes out of the background to overshadow what I’ve been preparing as the main focus of the piece. / / As in this image, when I realized that the backdrop was way more interesting than the design in front, / I was tempted to ditch the design and let the background stand on its own. But it looked more interesting with the design layer faded into near oblivion, giving the digital smoke something to react against. / / Was going to title the piece Digital Smoke, but thought that was somewhat unimaginative; I wanted to recognize a perceived aura of the aurora borealis. And I like alliteration. / / As always, I am ecstatic when a piece fits nicely onto a card with minimal cropping damage
Obviously trying to come up with a witty title….
