  • The city can be a dark and lonely place for some, I thank my lucky stars that I’m not one… This concept came to me one morning just after waking up. This is when most of my ideas and imagery come to me. I’ve worn back the edges to further skew the image.

  • When strife and stress seem to capture our lives, / and worries rob our calmness; retreat back to the / days where dreams and complexities were simpler / and problems were trivial. They still are in relative / terms as we remember bears and owls, / magic wands and rabbits. The third verse to Kenny Loggins’ song is as follows; “It’s hard to explain how a few precious things / Seem to follow throughout all our lives. / After all’s said and done I was watching my son / Sleeping there with my bear by his side. / So I tucked him in, I kissed him and as I was going, / I swear that the old bear whispered… boy welcome home.” Wonderful little places are gifts.

  • 2007 Mixed Media Guitar Sculpture Abstract From Alma Gitano Series 36×48”x4” Alma Gitana was Featured in Live, Love, Dream Group 15 Nov 09 page 2 Stain glass effect. I built the frame of 36×48” out of douglas fir wood, then built the guitar out of pine wood, notching the inside (of guitar) to accept plexiglass cut-out, which is then inlaid into 36×48” frame after frame is skinned with thin masonite and prepared for finish paint and notched out to shape of guitar, simple. The rest is even more fun. Frame of guitar is painted black and antiqued, and varnished the plexiglass is painted with (stain glass paint) abstract design finished off with gold and silver metallic trim. Plexiglass then glued into guitar shape, guitar sculpture is then glued into guitar shape of frame. The outside of guitar shape is painted with yellow, yellow ochre, cad red, orange, purple and white mixed acrylic paints.

  • If there was a choice between using a regular escalator or climbing ten flights of those stairs, I would choose the stairs without any hesitation! It has to be a happy climb! The Palais des Congrès in Montreal, Quebec, is a genuine feast for the eyes. It’s a convention center with a design relying mostly on its fabulous coloured windows. The effect is absolutely delightful, casting gorgeous colours both inside and outside the building, like a giant kaleidoscope. Focal length 55mm / ISO-200 / Aperture f/9 / Shutter 1/250 sec.
