The postcode series was based on a study of the banks of the swan river. when placed side by side, the dark blue part in the painting (11 in total), formed the outline of the river, with the faces representing the ‘people stain’ or places of population around the site.
This is picture four in a series of artworks which are composed from images and re-done in composite form. I was trying to catch the essence of a modern concrete jungle and it’s parts. The originals are 500×500 canvas prints.
Something along the lines of how people sinking within work and just the general busyness of life often reach for caffeine to save themselves… Enjoy!

When I start to create a digital abstract, I never really know what it’s going to end up like; sometimes something comes out of the background to overshadow what I’ve been preparing as the main focus of the piece. / / As in this image, when I realized that the backdrop was way more interesting than the design in front, / I was tempted to ditch the design and let the background stand on its own. But it looked more interesting with the design layer faded into near oblivion, giving the digital smoke something to react against. / / Was going to title the piece Digital Smoke, but thought that was somewhat unimaginative; I wanted to recognize a perceived aura of the aurora borealis. And I like alliteration. / / As always, I am ecstatic when a piece fits nicely onto a card with minimal cropping damage
While my scanner is on the blink I’ve been going through some of my photos taken while in Shanghai, China in 2006 and found a few with potential. I don’t think I’ll upload too many as photography isn’t one of my strong points, but it is fun to see what you can do with an image and photoshop. This one was taken on the poorer streets of Shanghai, all those bikes just caught my eye!

I don’t know how I missed this photo. I personally like it better than the other of the same horse that I uploaded before. / With this image, I want to also send an apology to all of my redbubble friends for neglecting them lately. There was my sister’s cancer, then this darn flu that won’t go away, not to mention that I’m finally getting some business calls and sales..yipee…BUT I haven’t felt like doing much-story of my life..lol….And I’m trying to rebuild my old website and link it to a new site, which isn’t even started yet, that will be strictly photography. The old site has just gotten so muddled and busy and I need to clean it up and since the photography seems to be growing on it’s own, I think it needs it’s own room so to speak:-) So, I’m sorry for my neglect. 2008 has been one crazy year but I promise I will be back soon and I will catch up. I appreciate all of you who still look at and comment on my work despite my absence and lack of activity here. Thank you!
Abstract Macro Photography This image is a little part of someones garden fence. i think that this picture looks like the sea – sand – horizon – sky i have cropped this picture slightly. i have adjusted the brightness/ contrast/ hue and saturation a little bit also, just to bring out the brilliance of what i photographed.
I Don’t Do Windows / ...I say, only in my dreams. Here, I used the Black and White room for something entirely different! The “sumi-e” effect reminds me of my pen and ink and watercolors; and it is used on each element in this piece. I desaturated each color in the model, and lightened most of them, to achieve a softer, washed color effect. Red was desaturated least. Digital work, after the sumi-e style. F.A. Lincoln Cathedral (in full The Cathedral Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Lincoln, or sometimes St. Mary’s Cathedral) is a historic Anglican cathedral in Lincoln in England and seat of the Diocese of Lincoln in the Church of England. It was reputedly the tallest building in the world for nearly a quarter of a millennium (1300–1549), though this height has been questioned.[1] The central spire collapsed in 1549 and was not rebuilt. It is highly regarded by architectural scholars; the eminent Victorian writer John Ruskin declared, “I have always held… that the cathedral of Lincoln is out and out the most precious piece of architecture in the British Isles and roughly speaking worth any two other cathedrals we have.” Canon 5DMK2 / F16 / ISO 100 / 24mm / HDR / Handheld / 1 Raw File Split Into 3 / Tonemapped in Photomatix
The old chapel window at the now abandoned Fremantle Prison, I wonder how many found their salvation here …... Camera – Panasonic FZ30 A bit of info - / Fremantle Prison is a former Australian prison located in The Terrace, Fremantle, in Western Australia. The site includes the prison, gatehouse, perimeter walls, cottages, tunnels, and prisoner art. It was built by convict labour in the 1850s, and transferred to the colonial government in 1886 for use as a gaol for locally-sentenced prisoners. It closed as a prison in 1991 and reopened as a historic site. It is now a public museum, managed by the Government of Western Australia with daily and nightly tours being operated. Some tours include information about the existence of ghosts within the prison.

We wear masks in order to hide ourselves, our real, flawed and wounded, selves. We try to disguise our issues, to wrap them up with pretty bows and attempt to pass ourselves off to the world as “ok”. But, I’m not ok, you’re not ok! We have all suffered wounds, and some of us don’t handle it as well as others of us do. And, the masks that we wear are not always sufficient enough to hide the tears and, in the end, become just as tearstained as our hearts have always been. All my own photos and textures used.
