Some images lend themselves to be converted into black and white, most notably portraits and pets. The effective use of isolated colour in monochrome images can be very eye catching and portray important information and emotions. A minimalist approach seems to work best and I think it works for this one of Hermione. / COPYRIGHT / IMAGE IS © PROTECTED BY COPYRIGHT AND NOT TO BE USED WITHOUT PERMISSION. George loves the beach. Sometimes he chases seals. Other times he eats washed up sea sponges and gets sick. To see the unfinished version of this, click here.

This is my Staffordshire Bull Terrier I call Miracle. The reason for that being his name is because it really is a miracle that he is alive. His mother Lily had gone a day past her due date and so off to the Emergency Clinic I went. Of course it was a Holiday Weekend! At least they had a Sonagram machine. They were able to get just one heartbeat…even though they thought they saw two bodies. Since she was definately due…and the one form with the heartbeat was so large…it was decided to do a C-section. Miracle was huge and I was told he would not have made it out on his own due to his size. He was in one horn. In the other was a partial puppy that was being reabsorbed due to an infection. This all happening to Lilly who showed NO signs of feeling bad at all. Such tuff little dogs. In any case…I am not sure how or why Miracle was not affected by the infection. As you can see…he is a beautiful healthy young boy…..and so the name Miracle became his. This was taken on the little deck in my yard in Amherst, Virginia with my Canon Powershot SX110 IS. I did breed him…but you might as well say I bought him. And he was expensive too. :)) / FEATURED IN THE APBT LOVERS GROUP BEST VIEWED LARGE / /

I dunno….I think I love ‘em most coz they don’t lie…. This old guy was travelling first class in the front seat yesterday, and we caught each other’s gaze. His vehicle had just taken off as I snapped, hence the blurred quality, but I’m hoping you might enjoy this shot as much as I do, and I am uploading this one for a challenge. / / One of my absolute favorite breeds, the honorable Staffie(Staffordshire Terrier) .
