  • The Send Off
    by StacyLee

    US$4.99–US$114.00

I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “ Whom shall I send, / And who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.” / Isaiah 6:8 To me this means about dying to self so God can send you out into the world and show the world how much Jesus loves others. This is the great send off! Photomanipulation created in Photoshop CS2 Stock Credits (thank you!): / Tulips: KelbelleStock / Cloaked figure: TwilightAmazonStock / Storm Clouds: Tash-stock / Light beam brush: obsidiandawn

  • When I asked StacyLee what inspires and urges her to create, I received an answer, which made me smile. “I’m a firm believer… we are all sculptors… the word is a canvas.” Seeing these words, I felt a sense of beauty and reassured enthusiasm for life. It reminded me of the late actor Danny Kaye and is philosophy of painting a full life. StacyLee’s portfolio is a moving collection. One of her works titled Her Prayer is a piece you could stare at for hours in search for self meaning. It’s highly spiritual and powerful. “I am a very spiritual person”, says StacyLee. It made me wonder the experiences of her life and what shaped her positive and spiritual drive. She grew up in a valley surrounded by “rolling mountains”, as she pens it, of the Blue Ridge in Virginia, USA. Art was in her at an early age. She did a range of activities, which promoted beauty and art. Whether it was learning to play the piano, the precision and elegance of dancing or more ways to produce art. StacyLee seems driven to create something at all times for the purpose of connecting with others and hoping to offer help and healing. Her works have become icons of inspiration for a few people at Red Bubble. This is not without sincere gratitude and humbleness on StacyLee’s part, “I get thrilled when I receive bubblemail… people telling me their stories and how my work has helped them heal.” Recently, my own philosophy is “when an artist creates art it’s beautiful, but when artists connects it’s humanity.” I see StacyLee’s portfolio as representation of his philosophy. She has so much to offer and is ensuring she shares as much: helping, advising, supporting and being a positive presence. “…I try to give people helpful pointers when they ask… I’m thrilled when people feel comfortable enough with me to ask for help.” When she sees a beautiful creation by someone else this, too, inspires her and helps her own art journey develop further. Red Bubble is a unique online experience where people from anywhere can share their art passion. It helps to have someone supportive like StacyLee to the site. So if you find yourself lost for inspiration, her portfolio might hold an answer or spark to get you on track again. Thanks StacyLee for being part of the RB community. / - KSeriphyn

1: Tell me something about In A Dream? / I wanted to create a digital landscape that was magical and dream-like. I wanted to combine several of my own photographs and blend them together seamlessly to make it look like a real place. 2: How did you create it? / “In A Dream” was created by four different photographs of a forest. I changed the opacity layers and used different blending modes to combine the four different landscapes into one landscape that looked real. I highlighted different areas of the image and darkened other ares by selecting different sections of the landscape. Then I went back and made sure they were blended well into the landscape in order to avoid choppiness. 3: What version of PhotoShop did you use? / I use Photoshop CS2 with a Wacom Tablet Intuos3. 4: Any tips or tricks you would like to Share? / My tip is don’t be scared to try new things. In my opinion, it’s the best way to learn Photoshop. There are plenty of tutorials on the web and plenty of people here willing to help you learn. So don’t be scared to ask and try different ways of doing things in Photoshop. 5: How did you go about learning PhotoShop? / I basically taught myself. I took a digital art class in college with a professor who knew virtually nothing about Photoshop. Basically, he left the students to learn on their own. It was very hard at first, but I never gave up and kept with it. I made sure I used Photoshop frequently in order to retain my skills and build on them so I could learn new ones.

I love all kinds of art in all kinds of media. However, I love the kind of art that makes me feel. Thus the reason I’ve selected the following images and written works is because of the way they’ve allowed me to be overcome by emotion. The following artists have brought life and feeling to their work in a powerful, passionate way. StacyLee Writing Pieces / casa minor / Humanity Tests Intuition

Interview with writer Sometimes by StacyLee Som…

Interview with writer Sometimes by StacyLee Sometimes’ writings have a way of captivating the reader. His words wrap around your heart, and you begin to feel yourself melt. Inspiring? Yes. But that word alone doesn’t do his work justice. I had the pleasure of interviewing the twenty-six year old in order to figure what goes on in this talented writer’s head. 1. When did you first start writing? / I can’t remember. I think it was in high school, I was a part of a band that I wrote music for. After we went our separate ways, I continued to write. 2. What or who inspires you to write? / I guess I am inspired by my environment, the feel of the moment, or whatever is current in my life. 3. How would you describe your writing? / I don’t think that I can really describe it at this point. It is still a work in progress, but I read somewhere a long time ago “know the rules, break the rules, make your own rules and break those.” That is kind of my motto when it comes to writing if that helps any. 4. Who are your favorite authors? / Saul Williams / Dr. Hunter S. Thompson / Ayn Rand / Toni Morrison / Ralph Ellison 5. Ever thought of trying to get a book published? / I have tried in the past to be published without any success. I plan to continue trying in the future but as of right now, I am more concerned with developing this style. 6. Where do you see your work headed in the future? / Hopefully, I will be published one day and once that happens I can focus on taking it further. 7. How has your experience been with RedBubble so far? / I love RedBubble. It’s like a million people baring their souls. I think it was Joseph Chilton Pearce that said that in order for us to live a creative life we must lose our fear of being wrong, and here no one offers any apologies for the way that they choose to express themselves. Everyone that I have come across has been warm, welcoming, and just awesome in general. 8. Is there anything else you’d like to share with the bubble? / I love to sketch and draw a little and as soon as I can get my scanner working right I hope to join the visual art community. We look forward to seeing what comes next from Sometimes. In the meantime, I’d urge all of you to check out some of the writings he has posted. He has a very unique style, and I promise you won’t regret it! StacyLee

Moseying about RedBubble, having been introduced here by artist StacyLee, I now realize I am going to have to spend some time pulling master files and converting them from .EPS and .TIFF to .JPG. Argh. This in between appointments at the eye doctor, interviewing clients, working on projects, and troubleshooting ongoing campaigns. Sigh. Better get to work, I guess.
