This tee is for the Flash Fiction/ATR collaboration comp. I teamed up with the lovely Anne van Alkemade . / The challenge was Anne writes, i design a tee to accompany it! Fun stuff indeed. / ‘Skullduggery’ was the theme. Here’s the story she gave me: / Sanguine Rose / “Scarlet by name, scarlet by nature,” Mick boomed as he entered the room. “My name’s Ruby,” she replied. “Semantics,” he answered. “Why am I here? What designs have you done for my label?” he said in his best ‘getting down to business’ tone. Ruby stood back from her draft board. “I call it Sanguine Rose,” she said confidently. Mick looked at the monotone outline. “It’s black and white! Where’s the fucking colour?” Ruby raised an eyebrow quizzically, and looked across to her pallet where the array of colours were about to be applied before she was so rudely interrupted. “Perhaps you would like to add the colour yourself,” she ventured. The silvery blade appeared and in a firm, sweeping motion, Ruby plunged it deep into his back and out the other side, causing a huge red bubble to explode all over his chest, a sanguine rose blossoming across the fabric.
