Hello ! Everybody I was surprised by the great responding of that picture ,that’s why i came back for more explanations. It’s true that i live in a place where nature is the queen .I’m surrounding by lakes ,trees and mountains,my friend Michel is always talking about moving but i want to die here.I’ve been creating a garden for four years now, getting pretty. No neighbors in front ,in the back only on both sides and i never see them .The only bug ,no sunsets and sunrises,i have to take the car ….big thing …. / there a preserve aria belonging to the «Université de Montreal» that means no constructions for many, many yearsThe place i took that pic.is two minutes from my house. The many comments i had made me realise how lucky i am to live in a place like that .THANKS TO ALL OF YOU. Gisèle…alias …Micmac /

I was driving along a road in a seaside town at Jervis Bay National Park, just 2.5 hours south of Sydney Australia when I glimpsed this moon through some trees with a pathway of silver light across the water. A lucky moment, in that all the elements were there but tricky in putting them together because it was so dark I couldn’t see anything through the viewfinder and had to keep taking pics, viewing them on the LCD display and then moving the tripod to get the composition I wanted. / It looks to me like the trees on either side of the moon are partners about to dance onto the floor of some enchanted ballroom.

Trees have been witnesses to many injustices in the world…I sometimes look into a tree and see the spirits and souls they have captured thru their “witness” of unjust murders by lynchings, war, etc…

Waking up well before dawn I drove through the fog filled valley hoping to get above the clouds for what I was sure would be a magnificent vista. Eventually I broke through found this spot and tree to accompany the magnificent pre dawn light and in awe observed this beautiful sight. Mountain ash are the tallest flowering plant on earth. Before logging became widespread there were even documented cases of 100m plus high trees. I photographed these beauties on Mt Donna Buang in the Yarra Valley outside of Melbourne. As a drum teacher I teach in five different schools every week, thursday being my Upper Yarra Secondary College day. I particularly look foreward to thursdays for the post school jaunt I inevitably do. The Yarra Valley is truly a valley of wonders containing beautiful forests, snow capped peaks (in winter), waterfalls, caves, vineyards and numerous basalt outcrops. A truly special place. Winner of the Abstracts from Nature, Trees in Abstract group challenge 17/9/2008. For more pics from this area check out my Yarra Ranges gallery. To view other work in this genre check out my Flora gallery. 10% of all profits go to the Wilderness Society
