squirrel
This little walnut thief found a prize and saw me coming with the camera… popped up a tree with the booty and then sat there flaunting it at me. LavenderMoon~
as is
An older image, a squirrel from Massachusetts. I used my truck as a blind, and my homemade carpod to hold my telephoto steady. The squirrel could of course see me but I wasn’t threatening as long as I stayed in the truck.
This is Jasper … the squirrel. He is having a bit of a treat in my exercise coach’s berry tree! I love how he wraps his long fluffy tail around the tree! He is just so darn cute!!!! Oh, and he wanted me to say “Hello” for him to his pals, Chip and Chuck!! They are his friends who live at Zoe’s house (digitalmidge). hehe ‘ I am thinking the treatment may have washed him out … here is the original..
Spotted this lil one outside my window just waiting to be in the spotlight and model for me:)K
Curious squirrel clinging to tree
Out in Moraine Park in RMNP photographing elk. I was staking out a big bull with a small harem. It was getting close to sunset, and the bull elk was being very uncooperative. He’d wander behind trees, or drop into a shallow area and disappear for 15 minutes at a time. Very frustrating when you’re losing the light. Fortunately, this little guy made several guest appearances on a rock nearby. To paraphrase Dewitt Jones, if you’re after elk, but Mother Nature is serving ground squirrels, you do ground squirrels. He was a tough little guy to capture. I thought pikas were tough, but he was zipping around and acting, well, kinda squirrelly. Here, the body is sharp, but that tail is a bit blurry. And I’ll be darned if I can make a positive ID. Nothing on the internet was of any help, so I’m just going to refer to him as a Generic Ground Squirrel (GGS).
