I am Waiting and Wondering / When will it be here / The Spring / Then happiness will fill the air / No more shivering / The snow will end…
I saw my Shih Tzu, Sophia, looking out the door going to the porch where / we sit and play in the Spring and Summer so waiting for Spring to come / and be able to spend time outside instead of just a cold short walk…and / she and I looked at each other and I realized we are both waiting and / wondering when Spring will be here.

In a move that we may all live to regret, I have commenced to inflict my poetry on you. At the bottom of the page where I wrote this one I scribbled a phrase, which, on reflection, carries far greater insight: The richer you are, the less you spend on curtains. Oh that poetic spirit.
A classic haiku. / The first line came to me on a beautiful, warm spring day as the breeze fluttered through my open window. I wanted to make it into a poem, but I couldn’t get past the third line. / Then I read a story (required reading for my American Lit class, lol) where the main character’s mother wrote haiku for a Japanese-American newspaper. And I remembered: haikus are only 3 lines, and were 5, 7, 5. I counted the syllables in the lines I had. It was perfect. I usually prefer to write unorthodox things in an orthodox fashion, but this one fits into the category of “haiku” perfectly. The syllables are all correct, and it’s about weather. lol
Mythical, / magical, / mystical green / shrouded in mist
As I gazed in awe upon a wonderful new work by Tessa Bishop the first thought which sprang to mind was that it looked like something out of a fairy tale. / As I began to write this comment beneath Spring greens the words simply flowed, inspired by Tessa’s amazing and surreal capture. / To see more of her wonderful work, drop in and check out her outstanding portfolio. And then you can also feast your eyes upon her wonderful mystical capture of Spring Greens Thank you for the inspiration Tessa!

Have no idea how this measures up to a proper elegy in terms of meter, but, I am happy to have discovered I chose the right word and even the proper spelling, in regards to it being a response to a picture of a graveyard. Woo hoo! Graven Image was the inspiraiton, by the way, as you can tell by looking for my comment on there!
